    Hello fellow Tundra owners.

I've been suffering an intermittent problem with my 2015 Tundra Platinum. The problem is a no start no crank issue. Turn the key and nothing, very intermittent, sometimes the engine starts and sometimes not.

When checking the error codes, I get a crankshaft position sensor error.

When I managed to get my Tundra to a dealership, of course they could not mimic the problem and the truck started everytime. With no suggestions from them, I asked to have the crankshaft position sensor replaced. Which was done. But it has not solved the problem. It's not the battery, voltage levels are fine and it's not indicative of a battery problem. There's no clicking or dimming of lights on the console when I turn the key, just simply nothing happens.

I'm thinking to replace the alternator next, I'm just not aware of how the alternator could be the culprit if the battery maintains charge when operating. I guess my question is, would a alternator be responsible for some miscommunication to the crankshaft sensor, as that's the consistent error that presents itself.

Very frustrating problem to have, with Toyota being no help;.

I am having that same problem with my 2015 Tundra. Sometimes I turn the key and nothing, then 5 minutes or a day later it cranks right up and I have no problem for a few days or months. I had it towed to a dealership and it cranked right up and they couldn't replicate the problem. I replaced the starter relay , no luck, thinking about replacing the starter itself or the ignition switch. I am frustrated as well..

Mine finally stopped starting. Had an Autozone technician come out to diagnose the problem once and for all. Official diagnosis was the starter. Changed and hasn't been a problem since.

Don't change the alternator. That won't solve a no crank situation. The dealer should have know better and told you that changing the crank sensor wasn't going to solve a no crank issue. More than likely it's going to be a starter.
