I understand that there is no tranny filter to change on this model/year.
I have over a 100k on the truck and I was thinking of changing out the fluid ... the amount that I can anyways.

Is there anything special I need to be aware of if I do this?
There should be a drain plug, fill plug and a plug to check fluid level.

in my mind it should be pretty straight forward ensuring that I put back in what drained out just looking for any thing that could go wrong.

    Thanks

@whoareyou(5-1), you are not the first to inquire or to be believe it is a simple process There is a screen (not a traditional filter) and most don't replace it. Some drain/refill based on volume and some check level via Toyota guides. A search will yield you every variation of this discussion imaginable.

There’s no transmission filter on the 2017 Tundras?

Some call it a filter but it is actually just a strainer and really does not need to be changed.

That’s with any 07-21, the way OP worded it sounded like there was nothing at all. Just a open pickup

Good info, not sure if I'd be laying under the truck while my "helper" cycles the trans between N & D ! :monocle:o_O;):burnrubber:
