Is there an offering from Toyota for remote start on my 2018? I do not have a smart key, (not sure if that’s even an option on ‘18’s or not) but I’m wondering if there’s a factory way to upgrade.

IF not, what recommendations would y’all have for aftermarket remote start options? I’m hoping to be able to add this upgrade for chilly morning warm ups. appreciate any feedback. Hope y’all have an amazing day!

Sweet. Thank you! Haven’t dialed in how to fully utilize the search feature yet. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I have a Compustar DSST that is a remote start and an alarm that is good up to a 1/4 mile which I really love. It is USB rechargeable (the remote) and needs recharged maybe once a month depending on use. I have had it on my truck for at least 4 years maybe more and have had zero issues.

A lot of folks do not like the remote starts because the truck dies when they get in. I like this one because you unlock the door and get in and "without touching the brake pedal" insert the key in the ignition and turn it on and you are good to go. If you touch the brake pedal first it will kill the truck because the key with the chip (I have a 2018, I am sure different for a push button start) is not in the ignition so as a safety feature it immobilizes the vehicle.

Just my .02, I love mine
