    Hey gang,

My first post here, and I am getting one of these to day. Question:

Price was $51k for a VERY CLEAN truck with 30k miles.

I have seen lesser versions of this truck for $45k and $50k. While the newer trucks were $58k+

I got the 2018 because it has the 5.7 V8 and expect to drive it for 400k miles.

Thanks for anything you can share.

Drove it around to day, lots of compliments. I may have paid too much but I don't care. My plan is to make the last truck I buy...

Great looking truck! There are always going to be cheaper options out there, but they'll come with something needed. Mine is only 2 years older than yours and I've done a bunch of maintenance items.

    First upgrade... change tray... :)

As you can see I will be adding LED lights in the interior. There is a warning about reducing range of the remote when using LED anyone experience that?

    That's a great console tray!

For the LEDs, I think the biggest issue was with using cheap LEDs in the bed light/brake light assembly. Not positive, though.

Nice truck! I feel the same way about my 19, I have zero plans of ever buying another vehicle. I’ve done a fair amount of aftermarket adds: cat back, leveled, stereo upgrade, Methods, RetraxPro Tonneau etc. but the best aftermarket add (hands down) was the rear anti sway bar.

Tell me more about the rear anti-sway bar.
Where did you buy it? How much? Hard to install? Describe the benefits. Tia

Got my 1794 last year before prices went certifiably insane. 2016 CPO with 66k odo for right at $40k.

One of the biggest reliefs was learning that the signature clunk from the front end that happens around 11 mph was the abs system doing a self test.

    This forum has been invaluable.

yeah, I would never purposely buy a vehicle in this climate, but all things considered I got a "deal" I would have rather paid $40k, but I am ok where I landed. My son needed a car so I gave him mine, and when I looked at everything, this actually turned out to be the perfect vehicle.

    I love this truck.

I made it 3-4 years without a truck then just couldnt stand it anymore. I'm by no means a heavy truck user, but not having the utility was really wearing on me.

This is my first truck and I should have bought one decades ago...

Working through my first upgrades... I got the tray, will finish up the interrior LED's tomorrow, and then if I have time I will install a wireless charger.

Then I will upgrade this HORRENDOUS radio...

Bought it at a Toyota dealer, $185.00 and it was easy to install, took me a little over an hour with standard hand tools. From a benefit perspective this really reduces body sway in turns/corners and makes the truck feel far more stable. Probably not the right step if you off road a lot as it does restrict suspension movement though.

I think you got a decent deal. Bought mine on Saturday and didn’t do as good as you. I paid about 2k more for my 1794 a model year newer with 29k.

I just purchased a 2020 Crewmax TRD Limited with 20k miles, a handful of dents. Paid $43k. Pulled the dents with a puller for $50. Replaced the rear tail light that was busted. Has a few scratches, but for the savings was worth it. Your rig looks like its in mint condition. Not a bad price for that.

Starting to work through the upgrades. The former owner installed a JL subwoofer, and a JL Audio amp. Nice components, but a brand that I probably wouldn't have bought on my own. This system had issues, sometimes the base would work, wonderfully other times not. Sometimes the the speakers were loud enough other times not. I wasn't worried about these issues as I knew I was going to rip everything out eventually. Started that process this last week.

I traced the wires to find out that they were run to the JBL amp and that somehow the JBL amp was causing these issues. So I disconnected it. The radio was the worst so that had to go. I installed a Sony 9500ES head unit, and it has made a WORLD of difference. I could adjust the eq, time delay, crossovers, etc... and I got so that it sounds good. I am pretty happy with this setup, especially the wireless android auto.

I finally got around to installing the wireless charger in the center console, and it makes a world of difference. I put the phone in the center dash, and then android auto comes up, and I start adjusting everything from the big screen. It is a setup that's just as good if not nicer than the 2022 Toyota big screen.

I am going to replace the door speakers soon. So once that's done, I should be finished with the interior except getting some floor mats to keep the interior clean. I will post pics of the head unit when I have a chance.

I just noticed this. How do you like these pedal commanders? Are they really worth it?

I decided against a pedal commander. It was a cost vs savings decision after I read on this site some mixed reviews. Once I realized my Tundra is not a drag racer things have gone ok for me. My truck sits outside so I have a very small space heater with a timer I use to warm it on those cold Wyoming winter mornings. I’m short and I hate to scrape windows. The space heater works great to melt the ice, heat up the interior, and it saves on gas.
