    I am going to change the front and rear shocks on my Sequoia ( 2018 Limited 4x4)

    I want to achieve better ride, tighter on the turns, less bouncy and less boat like feel. This could all be excessive right now due to worn out struts and shocks. Truck has 70k but shocks are shot.

    I have spent a fair amount of time on the forums and planning with going with Bilstein 5100's all around. I have a few questions on some other components and will appreciate some input based on experience.

    I want to level the Sequoia so go with 1st clip on B5100 ? I would like to keep stock ride height in back. Front leveled or as close as possible to that without having to add anything to back. Also Front as close as possible to TRD Pro ride height ( I think it's +1 inch in front on sequoia)

    For rear - was considering Dobinsons springs stock ride height. Will they help with better cornering or stay with stock springs and upgrade to TRD sway bar ?

    I am pretty sure I am on the first clip with Tundra springs and 5100's, it lifted it a lot and I had to adjust the rear airbags to match. Part of that could have been the Tundra springs though as they are a different spring rate. Here is the pic at "stock" rear ride height after install.

    My ‘15 is currently on 4600’s; I don’t care for them like I thought I would. I had 5100’s in the rear for about a year, Eibach pro truck sports (rode height adjustable via clips like 5100’s) on the front for two years. The Eibachs were toast and a little floaty feeling. When I bought the vehicle, the shocks were blown at 80k mikes but I couldn’t get 5100’s in time for a road trip, which is why I went with the Eibachs.

    5100’s are generally very good which is what I was surprised that I don’t like the 4600’s. The bottom clip of 5100’s will net you some lift - about an inch or so - on the sequoia, but stock height on a tundra. They do make the 4600 in a sequoia specific shock.

    I decided to go with Dirt King 2.0’s in the front. They just showed up the other day and are waiting to go on. They are supposed to be the bees knees. Much more expensive than the 5100’s though.

    I also went with stock replacement coils in the rear but was THIS close to getting the Dobinsons. I got the OE springs during a 24% off + free shipping deal a few months ago, so paid something like $170 shipped for the pair.

    I like the 5100’s, no complaints for the kid hauler. Compliant, not Fox plush, but for the price they can’t be beat. 6112’s would be a nice upgrade if you want to kick it up a notch.

    Ok guys, thanks for you replies.

    I went with 5100's on first clip in front and put 33's (275/60-20) on without and rubbing. Just for the curiosity I did put on 285/60-20 and they fit also without rubbing but I didn't want to deals with any rubbing at all so went with 33's.

    Ride is much improved than before. Stocks were shot completely in the back and front's were 90% shot.

    I still get a little lean (expected in truck this size) on turns. Next step is TRD rear sway bar.

    kbahus - Do fox shocks give a pusher ride ? Which fox shocks ? Would you still need the sway bar ?

    Sway bar is to reduce swaying. If you think your rig is swaying too much, you want a more rigid sway bar, not shocks. Shocks in fact need to be softer to amplify the effect of sway bar.

    Fox on wife's TRD PRO Sequoia are very good. They have multistage valving that absorbs small imperfections and big bumps equally well. They also have external reservoir which aids with heat soaking.

    I don't like 5100 much on my Tundra, they are too firm and still overheating on the log roads in summer. Rear leaked out in 3 years, replaced with ARB OME, much better. Need to replace the front ones, but I can't afford throwing out something that still works :)
