2018 Shift Lock Solenoid

Cannot shift out of Park - have to do it with the manual bypass. I read that its powered by the AM1 fuse and that is good. Anyone replace theirs and how did you get to it and can you verify its under the center console beneath the sifter?

 

Have you checked you brake light switch above the brake pedal? Gotta ask as it wasn't mentioned. Way easier than pulling the console.

 

I checked .....I just verified that my brake lights came on. Would them lighting up rule out the brake light switch and fuse?

 

Yep. This issue seems to come up once in a while but I've never experienced it myself. I want to say that the fix is odd, as in unexpected but I'm just not remembering what the heck it was. Sorry.

 

When your truck is on and running and you step on the brake, can you feel it "click" in the center console? The neutral safety switch should release the shift lock when you step on the brake. If not, check the switch.

 

Yeah...no clicking. I'd like to order the part and replace. How the heck do I get to it?

Also..is there a document that shows what each fuse is responsible for? After me messing around last night my directionals aren't turning on...would love to know what fuse protects that

I'm having the same trouble with my Tundra. Did you ever resolve this issue? I have brake lights, everything else works. Just have to use the bypass to get out of park.
