Hello everyone. New guy here. Had a Tacoma for two years but hated the thing so waited to join until I got what I wanted. Love all the info here ladies and gents. We about to see if this fits. From 275/55 r18 to 285/60/r20. Won’t lie have some worries just because off the truck they look huge. Tell me it’s that normal optical illusion.

60’s might be tight and need some mud flap trimming. I had a 3/1 with 305/55/20’s with rubbing on the front mud flap when I dove hard into downhill corners.

Yeah I’m thinking I’m gunna kinda nicely beat anything in that I see might rub. I notice on the back there are a couple areas that come into the wheel well so just going to make those smooth with the rest and that should be good. Got a couple ideas for the mud flaps but I need to see the tires on before I make that decision.

The tire in the picture looks to be a 285/55/R20, unless the tire behind it is a 285/60/R20. I have a leveled 2021 with 285/60/R20 on 20x9 +25 rims without rubbing, but I don't have mudflaps so...

I posted a picture in this thread...

but the site I have it hosted on seems to be down, if it stays down I can upload a new image.

I think you will be fine with no rubbing to minimal rubbing. I’ve got 275/60/20’s on a +1 offset and don’t have rubbing with mud flaps. I have the RCI skid plate so not sure if you’d rub on the skid plate or not but that’s easily fixable. I’m wanting to go up to a 285/60 or 295/60 for my next set so I’m curious to hear about your fitment issues (if you have any)

I’ll be posting pics come Monday. The set that are on the rims right now are the 285/55’s but not much tread so found some 285/60s with half tread for 200 to put on instead. I have this feeling the skid may be the thing that rubs more then anything. If I rub on the flaps I’ll just take them off for now “have a idea to fix that too but yet still look clean”. Im hoping for smooth fit but will role with the punches that morning. I told my guy beat or cut when needed lol.

Just to be clear, the pictures tires are 285/55/20, not 285/60/20, correct?

As text above says the ones on the rims are 285/55 but the ones behind that are going on the rims are 285/60’s

UPDATE: sooo after leveling kit installed I put the 285/55-20s on and they even rub just a tiny amount. Now if I was to put the 285/60-20s on I know for a fact you will have to do some good amount of trimming. Sooo with that being said I will be coming up and doing a bumper trim from the bottom.

Strange. Many trucks that came with the TSS package had 285/55R20s off the lot, mine included, with zero rubbing.

Could be the wheel offset, less offset pushes the tire out more causing the tire to make an arc when turning the steering wheel, this could be causing the rubbing.
