Welcome from the Texas Hill Country.

Both of your messages are "frequent flyers" here, and result from two separate issues. Both messages have been discussed extensively. Search is less than ideal, but your skills will improve with use.

The trailer brake controller message still occurs, and is often accompanied by low-level braking effect in early models. This has been improved for some owners by dealer recalibration of the controller. Some frustrated owners simply replace the IBC with an effective, straight-forward aftermarket controller like the Tekonsha P3. Unfortunately, that eliminates integration of the controller with the truck if you liked that feature.

The second message often requires an aftermarket relocation bracket for the TSS sensor if you have installed a lift. The fact that you received the message before the lift simply means the system has never worked properly, and less-than-competent technicians now have an excuse.

Edit: Here are a couple of starter "search" threads for you. Just resurfaced, and Now Showing under "Newest Posts" tab: :D

Trailer brake error while not towing - try cleaning out dirt and moisture from 7-way trailer plug. Low battery voltage can set the error also.

Pre-collision malfunction - Was recall KOB done? Sounds like moisture is getting in and giving you the fault. There is no bracket to relocate the TSS sensor for lift as mentioned above, only for changing to a different style grille.
