Someone on one of the Tundra book of faces groups that I am on said there was an update to Android Auto. I guess it looks different but IDK about the functions. I wish there was an upgrade/update for the <2019's

I heard google was very slowly rolling out the updates. I have a 2021 and haven't yet received the update, but I've heard it's more based off your phone and not the vehicle.

There are even guys with gen 3's that haven't yet received the update. I'm hoping my phone will get the update soon. I would love to have the split screen Nav/music option.

The updates for Android Auto are happening on your phone thanks to Google. Doesn't matter whether your truck is from 2019 or 2023 your phone is the driving force. Even if you have latest version installed from the Google Play Store, you may or may not have the new display format. That is controlled server side by the Goog.

From the picture you posted, you have the new update and "Coolwalk" display that allows the split-screen . Now you can see your google map, and media controls at the same time.

If you prefer Waze as your navigation app, you'll have to wait on the full coolwalk support.

Mine was updated last Friday morning. It was weird to see the dash change. I am still trying to get used to it. You can change it back to what you previously had. We'll see.
