I was backing up this evening and crunched my rear bumper and put 12-14” long gouge in tailgate.

I am soooo pissed but shit happens.

So obviously I will need body work or new skin on tailgate and new back bumper. I can’t claim on insurance so it will be out of pocket.
Does anyone make an aftermarket bumper that is compatible with the sensors for oncoming traffic in the rear.

I just spent $$$$$$ on DeMello front bumper and Baja Design lights for front bumper and now this.

I was just reading that ICI is the only aftermarket bumper that allows you to retain BSM etc features ???

CBI has a BSM compatible bumper coming out but it hasn't been released yet. They showcase it in one of their YT videos. The fact that it hasn't been released doesn't really help in your situation.

As far as ICI's solution goes its made with Aluminite (resin) so I'm not sure how much if any metal is used in their design. It used to be marketed as Magnum bumper and it looks like ICI bought the design from them.

Unfortunately I don't know of any new solutions for BSM aftermarket bumpers.

Yeah a real buzz kill for Christmas, we were coming home from the mountains and the sensors, camera and mirrors were covered in road grime from driving in the snow. We were 15 minutes from home and the wife had to go to the restroom and couldn’t wait so we pulled into a place for her to go and backing out I hit a metal structure and damaged bumper in two spots and made a huge scrape about 12” long and a 1/4” deep into the tailgate.

Not wife’s fault I was driving but it is such a bummer, last thing I needed was a $2k expense.

‘Wife had two accidents in 12 months and one was close to $200k in damage and so insurance tripled in premium so I can’t claim this.

Can you guys check out ADD Honey Badger rear bumper.
It says sensor cut outs and they look like they may be large enough or made to house the BSM system???

Unfortunately no unless you are going to manufacture mounting and modify the bumper. It specifically says:
    • *Not compatible with lane departure feature
    • *Not compatible with blind spot monitoring

The big cut outs are intended for storage. The angles look off for proper placements of the BSM sensors IMO, even if you MacGuyver them. If you are going this route I think the Rough Country's with the bed steps are possibly a better candidate. I suspect the slots on the RC are too narrow for the sensors and will require modifications.

I haven't found a good image of the actual sensor sweep but this shows the placement of the sensors:

From looking around underneath the truck I think the sensors are slightly off angle from the truck's center line and are not completely parallel. They would also need to penetrate whatever protective covering is placed over them. If the bumpers you are looking at doesn't accommodate these factors its not going to work out.

No worries. I'm looking at the ADD bumper and it looks like it would be possible to modify it for BSM but its not compatible out of the box.
