New member here. I have been perusing this forum for a while, as I study what others have done to their Tundra. Great info and wanted to return the favor. I recently bought a new 2020 SR5, which looked prettyIMG_5191.jpg IMG_5190.jpg much like an old man's truck. The first mod. was to de-chrome it by sticking on the badge overlays, then purchased the bumper end-caps pre-painted (which didn't match the OE paint). Had to purchase paint anyhow to do the hood bulge, so that worked out eventually. The next step was getting the truck leveled with Bilstein 6112 set at 1.9", Icon Rebound wheels, with Cooper 285/75x17 AT3 XLT tires. Last item just added yesterday were the fender flares. Had a hard time deciding where to purchase, but ended up with the TRDshop.com OE style smooth flares pre-painted. It arrived much quicker than anticipated (3 days), and much to my surprise the color match was spot-on. I know there are 5 formulas for 1 MGM code, so was pleasantly surprised. The flares stick out 1" from the stock fender, and fills out the otherwise naked wheel well. Installation took a short afternoon, incl. 2 trips to the store looking for suitable tools to get the fender liner grommets off. There were no installation instructions included, but removing the grommets was not needed as the flares screw right into the grommets. Very happy with the results so far, and will further update once I get rock-sliders and low profile front bumper installed.

Do you have a direct link to those on the trdshop site? The only ones I can find on their site are definitely not the ones you have. Are yours actually Toyota oem or are they an aftermarket brand that Toyota rebrands as an oem part?

This is what I went by in my initial search. https://trdshop.carlocktoyotaoftupe...3u-jpB5Kc7iUgbO8udSF7cJl362J9_ehoCeRYQAvD_BwE
I know this indicates 2007-2013, but went ahead and contacted them to get a quote for my particular truck and color. The part # is #00012T175203 OE Smooth Style Fender flares - Tundra - Magnetic Grey. I had also had contact with Sparks parts who claimed their's is an OEM, but only measures out at .75" from the fender. I had measured a neighbors Tundra (2008 I believe), and those stick out 1.5". There is also a Toyota in Dallas, TX who quoted me, and their part # also started out with 00012T ..... , which lead me to believe these are OEM.
The label attached to protect the flares is attached below, which also indicates it is OEM above the bar code. Whether these are all rebranded or genuine is anyone's guess. Sorry if that added to the confusion, but there are a few threads on this forum where I had initially gathered my information from (which didn't really help me make up my mind, but liked what I saw in the one small picture shown on the TRDShop link above.IMG_5197.jpg

This is what's confusing me I guess. The picture in the link you provided is definitely not what you have on your truck. The picture in the link shows a wider flare with a squared off section nearest the side mirror. Your pictures represent something different and it's your flares that I want.

Wiretwister: I would contact them directly with the specs of your truck. You can also quote my part #, but that wouldn't apply if you have a CM or different color. They will e-mail you a quote with correct info, which from there you can place the order. I am attaching another pic I just took to perhaps help you a little better.
To TheBeast: I owned a 2005 Tacoma before I bought the Tundra, and the flares seem to be much different. I which they were more like the Taco, as they are much fatter and perhaps wider, but the one's I currently have suit me just fine. A pic of my old truck to show the difference.

Welcome from Texas. Love how you jumped straight in to modding your truck! I have a long list of what I want to do but haven't been able to do much of it yet.

Thank you. I had wanted to modify my Taco when I had it, but except for a chrome delete and some larger tires on stock wheels, didn't do too much to it. It was a 2x4, so didn't feel right to lift it. This Tundra will hopefully soon see the SW when my wife and I hope to retire in New Mexico (from flatland Florida).

Nice! NM is a good state, I spent some years there. Lots of dirt roads and areas to camp and enjoy.

I would like to get the truck ready for off-road in the SW later (w/i 2 years). I'm fortunate to be able to do it now, so I figured I'd jump right in.
Rock sliders (CBI) and Blitz front bumper (Victory 4x4) next on the list.

Man, you are working your way right down my list! Tow mirrors are my next purchase (from Boost auto), then it will be a lift/level with the Bilstein 6112s and 5160s to allow a larger tire. I'm torn between the Victory blitz or just doing the full bumper from them and probably the rough country rear bumper.

It didn't happen by happenstance, as I have researched this forum and others for quite a while. I also would like to do the mirrors (thanks for the direction), as the plan is to build an off-road, off-grid utility trailer conversion.

The big reason I'm buying from Boost is they have the ability to add power fold to the Tundra which I'm lacking and wanting, for only 350 more. They have good install videos and it seems like a pretty straight forward install. Enjoy your build!

Do you have an easy link to those, or are they easy enough to find? My brother IL has a big F350 Platinum and those fold in as well. Pretty impressive and handy to have, especially with a big truck that barely squeezes in the bank drive through lane without hitting the mirrors.

Sorry for the delay, didn't get notified of posts. Boost has a quality product and their prices are better than OEM and you get a more useful product as well (in my opinion). It blew my mind that both Toyota and 4wheelparts told me that they couldn't add power fold to my truck, and per Boost it's about a 10 minute install if you are running the reverse lights already.

I got a decent deal on my Tundra, but it could also have been just from the quantity of trucks we have around.
