    I need some advice. I am a long-time Toyota owner but a first-time Toyota truck owner. I recently purchased a 2005 RWD, 2D Toyota TUNDRA 4.7L.

Here's my situation: The previous owner put 18" Lexus OEM Alloy Wheels (#74297S) on the truck, and I am not happy with this look. (The tires on it are Bridgestone Dueler H/T 840 265/60HR18.)
    LEXUS WHEEL #74297S.jpg

Although I planned on changing them out at some point after replacing the brakes and the lower ball joints, a buddy told me about a set of wheels and tires for sale about 2 1/2 hours away from where I live that he said was a "steal."
The ad said, "TACOMA WHEELS - FIT 2005 TO 2023 TACOMA WHEELS set of 4 Toyota Tacoma wheels mounted on Goodyear Wrangler AT all terrain tires in size 265/70R16 with TPMS sensors installed. This wheel and tire package came off of 2020 truck at the dealership so they basically LIKE new. The price is FIRM $900."

Yes, these wheels look nice, and IMHO, it would bring my Tundra closer to the look I prefer. Before I make an impulsive purchase, are there any issues I need to know by putting these tires and wheels on my Tundra?

I currently do not have any rubbing when turning, and I want to keep it that way. I do not know the offset of the Tacoma wheels, and although I am moving from an 18" to a 16" wheel overall diameters of the tires are super close. I also checked to be sure that the PCD, aka bolt Circle (6x139.7 / 6x5.5), center bore are the same, and the widths are identical.

So I would like to know if anyone has done this sort of swap before and if I need to know anything more before moving forward. Also, is this really a bargain at that price?

Being a newbie, I apologize if this question was already asked and answered.

Newbie is no excuse for not using search. There's a boatload of threads on this exact wheel, this exact topic here in this subforum.

If the tires are new, the price is fair. It's nowhere near a "steal".

As for fitment, please ... let me search that for you:

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/2015-tacoma-wheels-fit.90710/

But more than anything, check this thread for all the OEM options people are running. Though I'm sure you saw it was linked in virtually every other thread I linked above. That's how often this question gets asked

Lots of first gen tundras running stock Tacoma 3rd Gen OffRoad wheels. The offset is not an exact match but it’s not too far off either. I think the look is strange myself but these are a good quality alloy wheel which can be had for cheap. Stock 2nd Gen offroad wheels are even cheaper though and same size w an exact match on offset. They just look fairly lame (I run them on the wimp truck.)

for $900 you can do better. Also I doubt the TPMS sensors will work as they changed from 2nd Gen to 3rd Gen Tacoma.

    Thanks shifty!
I truly appreciate the detailed response and the lesson. It wasn't my intention to waste anyone's time. I'll be a bit more mindful when posting questions and do a better job researching my issue before posting in the future.
    Thanks!

    You’re the best daveeasa!
This answers my question! I appreciate the advice and I’ll keep an eye out for stock 2nd Gen wheels.
    Thanks!

Actually, whoops, sorry, offset on the cheapo 2nd gen offroad is 30? 3rd gen offroad is 25. You want 15 to match the oem Tundra 16's.

    Part number: 42611AD030

They are easy to find (I have two sets, got one set of new takeoffs for $80 and another for "free" with some snow tires).

the twisted 5 star Tundra / first gen Tacoma offroad wheels are 16x7 w 15 offset.

Part number: 69395 but I think you also need center caps?

TLDR: Camp out on TacomaWorld and look for stuff near you which other guys don't want, any 6 lug Tacoma wheels will "work" but most of the Tundra guys want lower positive offset to push the wheels out (though spacers can help with that too). If you're on stock tire size, offset is really unimportant unless your suspension is toast.

Oh, and there are vinyl stickers to blackout the 3rd gen offroad wheels. I just got a set for mine but haven't found the 1h to install them.

Interested to see how that goes for you when you do it. If you remember, post up here on your experience. Been curious about that kit myself, haven't looked much into it.

These wheels will sit nice on your truck if you don't have fender flares. Price is decent if the tires are near new. I have factory TRD flares and I run a 1.25 inch spacer on these wheels and it looks pretty good.

Someone here on 1st Gen has done it with those exact wheels, I remember replying to the post. I swore it was one of our Canadian friends on here, towards the PACNW.

But there's a few who've done it elsewhere on Tundras.com like here: https://www.tundras.com/threads/vinyl-trd-wheel-decals-installed.74544/
