Okay, so I am selling my 2017 Tacoma to one of my employees so I am upgrading to a Tundra.

I'm sold on a getting a used 2021 TRD Pro, not a huge fan of the third gens and I know the 2nd gen is tried and true. I have a local dealer that has this 2021 TRD Pro but it's fully outfitted for off-roading/crawling.. I live in a beach town where I would primarily use it for work, driving to job sites and the most action it would see is driving up to Mammoth during the winter.

My question is, can I get rid of the upgraded flares/bumpers? Im really most concerned with the riveted flares, it's just not my style.. is it even an option to go to a more factory look? the dealer told me It would be difficult since they cut the body and riveted them in.. or should I keep looking for a more stock TRD Pro and upgrade to my liking? I love an aggressive stance and bigger tires but this just really isn't me.

Only reaaon I'm really interested in this one is the low mileage (20K), tires and camper shell.

(interesting side story, I drove 3 hours to a dealer with a 2021 TRD Pro and when I showed up the sales guy that I had set up the test drive with said the truck wasn't detailed yet and he couldn't get the keys, wife and I were baffled and walked.. ended up at a local dealer to test drive the new Tundras and he mentioned he just got this 2021 one in) may end up going back to the shitty salesmen if I can't get this one to look the way I want..

    Any help is much apprecited!

Fender flares come off very easy.

The truck is new enough that even if the previous owner didn’t put PPF under the flares, you can probably buff out any imperfections from dust and debris getting between the flare and the paint.

Also, I’m pretty sure those rivets are just for looks. They didn’t drill through the fenders to install them.

Being that they are black those may be aftermarket fender flares.
I have OEM and they are mounted with screws along the underside rim of the fender.
The only issue I could see is if they rubbed the fender enough to wear into the paint.
I'd like to remove mine but there is a solid line where the fender edge met the paint and I think it is beyond paint correction to get it out.
As @Terndrerrr stated your truck is much newer than mine, so maybe that won't be an issue.

I can't help you with the bumper stuff, except to say when I researched swapping my chrome bumper ends to paint, it was going to cost around $800 not including labor..
There is a little info about halfway down the first post of this thread on what is involved in swapping chrome to painted.

Although there is no telling what all was removed to install those aftermarket bumpers.

    That's a nice-looking Pro.
I commend your choice to buy a Gen 2.5 instead of a Gen 3.

Welcome to the forum from Dallas..
