2021 Tundra TRD PRO

Hello, Is anyone having any issues with the sunroof motor/housing/frame and or electrical harness burning out? Has happened to me twice already, both times the frame and harness had to be replaced fully. Toyota has no answers for me other then it burning out. Thank god for extended warranty!!! Wonder if anyone has or had a similar issue, thanks.

 

Not me personally, but a few guys up here in the NW have had issues w/sunroof needing replacement in their '20s and '21s... @BrunoTheRescuePup

I believe there was a TSB that came out a while back addressing problems w/the sunroofs. If I remember right, local dealers were unaware of the TSB the guy I tagged ended up actually having to print it himself and show it to the service department... Maybe he can chime in here about his resolution and link you a copy of that TSB.

Yeah, I had the issue. I think TSB only went to ‘19 or ‘20 years, but mine was still under warranty. I had headliner issues where they ended up having to pay a shop to reskin it. Close, but not perfect.

The new frame is tight and I am afraid the motor is going to burn out struggling to close from full open, so I just do the tilt every couple weeks. Don’t care. I don’t even use that bad ass up down rear window. I think it is because I had no A/C for 3 years with my last truck, I keep the windows up and the A/C blasting.
