We have rented two of these vehicles now on trips and we necessarily wouldn't buy one, but give credit where it's due.

These little 2.5L motors have plenty of go (248 hp) and get fantastic fuel economy. I have been shocked. In town we did 32-34 mpg and on the highway was in the low 40's. The picture was a little optimistic on the fuel economy. It was hand calculated at 41.1 at 1100 ft of elevation (Arkansas).

Comfort is pretty good for a rental and pretty sporty feel when driving for a fwd vehicle. Something to check out if you need a car that looks sporty, gets good fuel economy, easy infotainment link up, and comfortable ride.

And you get the prestige of people moving out of your way like you were the fuzz.

Oh no. I have never seen rental Lexus vehicles where I have traveled. We looked at BMW 2 series or Audi, but it cost three times as much with possibly not as good reliability.

I would think this would be a good car for a college bound student.

I was referring to the stigma of Altima drivers thinking they are in a demolition derby anytime the engine is running.

I put 1100 miles in a week on a rental 2019. Ashamed to admit that I liked it, and would echo every bit of what you've said.

As someone who commutes 30k miles a year in something else, Altimas of any year are an indicator that aggressively inattentive driving is to come. Chargers are up there too, but altimas top it.

I'd worry about the longevity of the CVT. Have known multiple nissan owners whose CVT failed at 80-100k. I had a rental sentra once where the CVT was on its way out at 16k.
