I was looking to put the Trd pro camo trim on my tailgate and I found the trim piece for about $500 without the lights. Do I need anything else besides just the lights to complete it and put it on a limited tailgate?

Curious, does the trim pop off or do you first remove the top bed cap panel?

Thank you! Assuming you just remove the back side cover and you can get to everything?

Remove the 16 screws to remove the back cover first. Remove tailgate handle with 2 nuts. Then pop off the top trim (biggest pain in the ass). Once you have the top trim off there is some bolts holding the spoiler down. DO NOT JUST TRY TO PULL THE SPOILER OFF.

Do you still have anymore of the connectors you want to sell for the rear spoiler lights. If not can you tell me where you got them? You can text me 973-901-1191

So have people successfully swapped the spoiler? I have done my rear handle which was super easy. To swap the spoiler it sounds like all those same steps but then remove the top trim piece and unbolt the spoiler. To remove the top trim piece any advice? And how many bolts hold the spoiler on? Does it need a 10mm just like the handle?

Anyone have a connector that works for these or know what Prohit used? I’m getting my cap installed and wired next week and was hoping to have the same people wire my rear lamp set the new spoiler. Any info appreciated.

I tried today to put the pro spoiler and lights on my limited. The spoiler doesn’t fit with out cutting most of the plastic off of the inside of the spoiler. While doing this I damage mine. The pro tailgate must be different from the limited

I’m sure this is a stupid question, but you did remove the existing spoiler? I have a platinum but once the black spoiler came off the pro spoiler popped right on. Just have to move the 20 something little white clips over.

You will have to remove the top trim to expose 4 bolts. Then just pull off.

I thought the limited came with a color matched spoiler.

I am looking at images of a limited and they are definitely supposed to have a color matched spoiler.

Yeah, my Limited has a color matched spoiler and I’m wondering about getting the TRD pro one and switching them out.

That said, I’m having second thoughts now after seeing the above. Can u post pictures, @Toy too Tundra?

I assumed all the models had a spoiler but my limited definitely does. I have held the pro spoiler up and they look identical in shape so it should fit.

Great - thanks. The biggest thing for me is the cost of it - geez - not cheap!

Ps. Is the wiring straight-forward for the small lights? Meaning, where did u pull power from? Is it a direct plug-in?

Bought the TRD Pro spoiler and installed. Don't think I want to go with the marker lights. However, I have the three holes for them. Wondering if anyone makes or will make a plug for the holes?

I attempted to complete this swap today. Got through everything except the marker lights wiring portion.

I tried to double tap the right tail light, which was already previously tapped for the pro fender flare light. I couldn't get enough slack in the wire between the taps and ended up stripping the positive wire. There's a little piece of wire left between the harness and the cut. I was able to rig it with electrical tape for now, but I'll need a serious fix for when I go back and try to connect the flare and the marker lights.

Just to confirm, everyone that's done this swap is tapping the tail lights right?

Also, any suggestions in a simple way to fix the broken positive wire? I am almost considering hiring someone to fix it and just wire everything for me.
