Anyone have a favorite kit or combination of tools, etc.; required for complete 2022 tundra oil change?

I changed break in oil at 500 miles myself. Basically all you need is a 12mm for shield and 14mm socket drain plug. 3/8” ratchet. And the oil filter claw. Cause sometime them oil filter be really tight from factory. Like this one off Amazon:

Also having a 15mm ID hose help keep the oil mess to a minimum. Got mine off Amazon too. Came with 3 feet. Only need like a feet of hose.

That's crazy, why did they do that? Not sure what market youre in but did they have rebates for fleet buyers or something. We don't in the VA market

Don't forget a Fumoto valve! I don't even need gloves now when changing oil.

Texas dealer. I didn't realize they did it until I took it in to the service dept for the recalls. I figured I get the oil changed at the same time as they do the recall fixes. Service guy was perplexed when he ran the vin and no toyota care was available.

Id go back to them and raise an issue about that. You shouldn't have a regular purchase moved into a fleet sale only so that they can offer additional savings, that's not what fleet sales are for. You definitely shouldn't lose your Toyota Care without agreeing to it. Im sure you could raise the issue with Toyota and get your Toyota Care reinstated....just let them know it is for personal use and you never asked for or agreed to a fleet sale transaction

I had a fumoto on my Tacoma - and every truck after will have one. On the Tacoma I opted not to have the nipple for the hose but I'd recommend getting one - draining via hose will be much cleaner (no guessing alignment of drain pans etc.). I'll be ordering one for my tundra after the free changes are used.

Toyota care is free and comes with all new Toyota purchases. They do sell and upgrade to it that extends the time and miles. We don't sell it so Im not sure of how its priced or if the dealers can mark it up. At my store we offer what I think is the best deal around...for a one time charge of $309 we give you free maintenance for 5 years or 50K miles. That includes oil changes, tire rotations, state inspections, and battery replacement. Its been very well received in our market. The only thing is its a local thing thats only honored at our dealership but if you're local to us you can't beat it right now.

I don’t understand what this valve does… open and drain without a hose?

It's a valve to replace the Oil drain plug. Helps with making oil change cleaner and doesn't require tool to open valve to drain oil, just finger. Great for people who does oil changes often imo. I known a few race cars has them for quick oil change after race or trackday. Don't have to replace crush washer every time either.

Confirmed with the dealer today that the 2022 Tundra has the traditional 12-1.25mm thread size for the drain plug, which means a 14mm socket size for the head of the plug. I might go for the ValvoMax though since the valve is protected inside a metal cap rather than exposed to possible road debris. I’d hate to see the valve dump the oil because of something hitting it by accident and then, we’ll there goes your engine. https://youtu.be/TlmXepiEMC8

Stahlbus makes a good one too. So far it's my first choice.....when I get my truck!
