I “own” a 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro that has about 12k miles on it currently. I say “own” because it has been sitting at a dealership with no engine since the middle of July.
Here are the issues I have had with the truck since I purchased it a year ago.
    1. The ABS brake system was malfunctioning in the cold weather. Brakes were skipping and stopping properly. Dealer in New Orleans could not figure out any issues with the brakes. Problem was not resolved but I have not traveled into a cold climate since the problem. When we got back into area with temperatures over 30 degrees brakes starting working again correctly.
    2. The alignment on truck was never fixed correctly. The tires are on the Truck wore down to the treads. This issue has been common with Toyota owners of this truck. I had to bring truck to a 3rd party to get it aligned correctly and replace all the tires. $2500.00 out of my pocket. Toyota has still not reimbursed this money.
    3. Engine failed in July of this year. Truck was towed to nearest dealer in Idaho while we were on vacation. We had to pay for rental car and flights out of our pocket to get home. No word from Toyota about if they will reimburse it. The dealer in Idaho said the parts are back ordered and I likely wont get the truck back till middle of October.
    4. It took Toyota 20 days to finally give me a loaner vehicle once we returned home from our “vacation”.
I have called the Toyota corporate office over 25 times and have been given no assistance. It took them 15 days just to look at the truck once it was towed. Ive owned Toyotas for 20 plus years. I buy Toyotas because the service has been excellent in the past and the cars and trucks are very reliable. This has not been the case with this Truck. To make matters worse the corporate office has completely ignored my concerns. They assign you a case manager for your issues but they take 3 days to call you back. They will not give you an extension for your case manager or an email address to send them written information. It’s truly a shame that Toyota has become this company. I expected a lot more when I purchased a 79k Truck brand new. Buyer beware.. I wouldn’t get a 2022 because they obviously rushed into production during Covid.

Sorry to hear this. I popped my head in here just to gauge how reliable this platform was. Saw tons of issues early on. Unfortunately the quality of this new gen doesnt seem to have improved over time. Looking at the 3.4l engine failure thread is depressing.

The new Lexus GX550 overtrail looks really nice. Hopefully these are not platform issues, but instead just Tundra problems.

Talk to a lemon law attorney in your state. Consultations are often free, and you should do this before you broach the topic of lemon law replacement with Toyota itself. In mine, 30 days of the vehicle being “out of service” qualifies. Keep making your payments if you have a loan, and hold on to ALL documentation regarding repairs.

Toyota has been very good about not making you pay a cent for the small block rebuild, but your truck is indeed coming back to you rebuilt, they have to take off the cab to do the job and everything, and rebuild kit parts are on backorder, uh, very mysteriously.

Sorry to hear about your experience. My experience dealing with Toyota has been the same. My 2022 Tundra had a leak in the floorboard, which wasn’t properly sealed from the factory, which lead to water coming into the cabin and mold.

My Toyota case manager is completely worthless and disrespectful in every interaction we’ve had. Even pointing out that Toyota didn’t “owe” me a loaner vehicle during the 6 weeks I didn’t have my truck.

I now have my truck back and I’m not satisfied with the repair(s). I’ve addressed all of these concerns why with my repairing dealer, who directed me to my Toyota case manager. My Toyota case manager basically told me to “go kick rocks, we already paid the warranty work”.

I didn’t spend the money to just swap out stuff.
We’re out here arguing about new generation reliability but we’re ignoring the manufacturer and brand reliability. That’s a scary thing and a personal concern about buying the toyota platinum warranty. Does you no good if a dealer and manufacturer brush you off.

Sorry this has happened to you. This would be enough to dump everything Yota and never look back. That is just dang right depressing!!!! I think I would be calling the Houston office for Gulf States Toyota and getting a higher up on the phone??
