Just picked up my 2024 tundra and traded in a 2022. I have to say, the fit and finish on the new ones is miles ahead of the 22. So many fewer rattles and squeaks. Anybody else feel the same way>?

Toyota is all about Process Improvement manufacturing, no doubt they will improve little things here and there as production ensues

yes, the 2022 I tested was lacking, my much later build 23 is tight and solid

they constantly improve things and it shows

Congrats on the new truck. Hope you didn't have to take too much of a loss on the trade in

My 22 has been pretty solid, no urge here to give Toyota or local government more dollars unnecessarily.

Ya I did just fine. I moved up from the Limited TRD off-road to the Platinum. I was going to have them order me a new Limited TRD but they made me a deal on the Platinum on the lot that I could no resist. Didn't think I would care about the few touches that only come with the Platinum but man after a week, I really love this truck. Loved the Limited too though

My march 2023 build has been solid as well, but the do have open recalls for the fuel line issue. Which I am not sure if it is an actual issue or just them being safe.

Is there a list of the changes between the 2022 and 2024? I have a 2022 low miles platinum, other than the wireless charger sucking, it seems fine.

I don't have a list of changes, but some new 2024 owners complained about some of the same issues that 2022 has including:

    Wind noise
    Rear diff noise
    Throttle delay
And the legend has it, there are at least a couple 2024s had engine bearings failure.

Whats different is that 2024s are not included in the recent engine recall. Not yet ;)

Try sliding the phone 1/4” to 1/2” to the left of the holder, so towards the driver , try little different increments, if I put mine just a 1/4” over off the divider thing it works just fine

My 22 is tight at 18k miles

My hypothesis Toyo introduced 7 trims almost simultaneously instead of staggering them with a first edition and other trims across model year 1 as is more the norm. Some of the trim unique features on the higher trims were the least baked.

Either way you see some 22s that are tight and some people with later years that appeared to be assembled by drunks. So the quality control is not totally nailed down. The solution is as always extensively test drive and look over before you sign. A lot easier to walk away from an iffy build than get it fixed

    Lots of stuff!
I had a look at another Limited the other day:

The 24's get the nightshade editions - That would save tons of time swapping out the chrome/silver bits.

The 24's get the digital cluster that the earlier hybrids got. (not sure if the SR and SR5 get that)

The 24's are about $10,000 (Canuck bucks for a Limited TRD) more than the 22's.

I picked up my '24 1974 mid-May expecting to have door rattles after watching some videos, maybe some wind noise. But neither so far. And I already had extra sound deadener and foam ready from my last SUV I traded in. I even had extra aero fins that stick on your side mirrors to get rid of buffeting. No use for any of it now. All quiet on the home front.

Yes. I traded in my 22 for a 24 nightshade a few months ago.
I like the 24 a lot more (except for the fact I’m having to wait on my 2nd key fob)

I liked my 22 but I really like my 24 a lot more

TRD Air Filters, Front door windows tinted to match the rears. Wheel locks, Talons Garage cat shield, Tyger Automotive soft tonneau cover, WeatherTech floor mats with Tuff Skinz Custom Emblem kit, Toyota OEM Emblem Black Out kit. AVS vent covers on all four doors, Red Tundra letters on front bumper & TRD highlighted in Red on front grille. Tailgate Tundra Letters in Black.
I like my 22, I did have my front door seals swapped out and the drivers side mirror for a slight rattle. All under warranty. Nightshade edition is a plus but coming from a 2017 with chrome all over that truck the chrome around my windows and door handles sit fine with me. I did the blackout covers offered by Toyota for my emblems. So my 22 has been solid with 21,000 miles and I have the extended platinum warranty for a little piece of mind.
