    Good evening from Texas!

    I wanted to get some honest feedback on the 2023 if available. Obviously, everybody on here loves the Tundra but, does anybody have any honest regrets? Does anybody hate something about it they didn’t notice driving off the lot?

    I’ve read a lot of negative reviews online about design (which I love), etc. Is the MPG really 23 on hwy? Seem well built, etc.? I appreciate any feedback!

    Go ahead and dig through the last 5 pages or so of these forums, you'll find a few critical threads with comparisons and feedback...

    Consensus is that hybrid is better, much faster, better response, but you're loosing storage under rear seat as that's where batteries go...

    It really depends on what you value most in a truck. Some have very solid reasons to buy the big 3 brands, others want a Toyota with all of the pros and cons of new Tundra. You'll have to decide for yourself. Good luck

    My only regret at this point is getting the AVS. I figured there would be aftermarket AVS lifts available that aren't blocks or preloads. Doesn't seem like that is a thing for Tundras or any other vehicle from what I have found (would be thrilled for someone to correct me on this). Now debsting whether to rip it out entirely, go with a block / preload lift or trade my truck for the same thing minus AVS.

    Some might find those numbers atrocious but I love driving in sport+ mode on the platinum in the city. I also live in a pretty hilly area. For comparison my 5.0 f150 got 12 mpg and my 21 TRD pro got 10.1 mpg

    I have a '23 PRO, and I don't have a single issue with the truck.

    I wish the lumbar had more range, that there were rain sensing wipers along with lock/unlock sensors on the rear door handles.

    I really, really want to love my 2022 Pro, but I’ve had probably 6-8 build quality and electronic issues that have had it at the dealership for weeks since I’ve bought it. I actually don’t even have it now as it has sprung a catastrophic leak in the rear and likely has significant water damage. I love the way the truck drives, love the look, and love the tech. I’m hoping it’s just my bad luck more than anything else, but my truck just feels like it was built without care or concern, and it’s shown that throughout my 6 months of ownership.

    It's things like these that pushed me towards the platinum and 1794 trim. The Pro is an amazing machine and should definitely have come standard with some of the other "luxury" features.

    I am too. It’s been at the dealership for almost a week and I can’t get an update yet. I believe rear window/brake light to be the likeliest culprit.

    Currently, just tinted windows. Looking to change out the grille and swap wheels and tires.
    Just curious as to why you both think there aren't rain sensing wipers on a $70k Tundra? It may not be on the TRD Pro, but it sure is on my Platinum. It's also on the 1794, Capstone.

    I’d rather give up rain sensing wipers and keep the heated steering wheel. Drop 70-80k on a f150 paltry or limited only to have no heated steering wheel

    Agreed - the rain sensors are a nice-to-have, but damn does that heated steering wheel feel GREAT during the winter!!

    Another thing I thought I wouldn't need or like are the thigh supports. Even though I'm pretty short, I found them to be surprisingly comfortable.

    I’m sure the higher trims have it. But it’s pretty ridiculous you need to buy a higher trim to get something that should be standard nowadays on every vehicle. Especially on a $70k Pro. My $25k base model Mazda3 has auto wipers. My Grand Cherokee had in 2005. And every other vehicle I’ve bought since has had it standard.

    What irks me the most is that it probably costs Toyota more to install non rain sensing wipers on their lower trims rather than to just install them on every car and truck across the board. Same with things like auto up/down window switches. They’re spending more to give us less so we’ll buy a higher trim. It’s just so petty.

    I see your point, its apples to oranges but my wifes 2022 hyundai tuscon has rain sensing wipers and heated rear seats so I understand the expectations in features.

    I ended up with a hybrid after making a post:

    I drove a Silverado with the 2.7l turbo engine. Great little engine, but wanted something without the turbo lag, especially coming from a 392 hemi Challenger.

    No regrets on the hybrid, but you definitely won't be getting decent mpgs, even in the city. So far I average 15/17 at under 500 miles so far


    I am perturbed that the TRD Pro doesn't have some simple amenities, like auto up and down windows. And there's zero storage compared to my Silverado: the hybrid engine eats up the entire rear seat storage tub, the shifter takes up the middle console storage, and the sides of the middle housing have no indentations for storage. There's also no secondary glove box that seems to be standard in Ram, Silverado, and GMC.

    There's no bed step. I use my bed multiple times a week for equipment, so it's a big deal. And AMP research step is backlogged.

    The turn radius sucks.

    The infotainment screen is hard to see because it reflects everything in the cabin.

    The hood reflects the sun, and because of the design, you can have two bright glowing suns reflecting off the hood.

    It also isn't as quiet as the f150 or Ram.

    But, it's cool, fun to drive, and hopefully will last me a decade. Every American vehicle I've owned had significant issues at the 90k mile mark.

    For $75k you can get a fully decked out Ram Limited with air suspension, diesel engine, and all the luxuries. Honestly an amazing machine. Just can't trust it one you hit 6 digit miles.

    I miss having it tbh. Kept emergency rations and water, tire repair, tire air, battery charger, emergency cold gear, ropes and chains, bungees, straps, roadside glow sticks, first aid, and boo boo kit. Twas great for keeping stuff out of the truck bed heat.

    Yeah, I believe you. I keep thinking myself if I were to get a hybrid next time, but I can't justify having no storage inside the cab, even though I'm getting a big camper shell next month.

    You can always get a weatherproof toolbox or tonneau cover for the bed, that'll help out a bit

    Yeah, that's my new obsession. Moved from searching for the right truck to now searching for the right truck cover debating on getting a retractable, but losing the bed space, or getting the X4s and losing the fun factor of retracting

    I've had multiple of both including a power roll-up on my Ram 2500 (too high to reach a tri=fold). I think the tri-fold is the way to go.

    Had a tri fold on my ‘15 Taco for years and then tried out a shell..game changer. Being able to stack anything cab high and put a dog back there is awesome and provides more excuses to take my truck on trips. Downside is now I def have to buy a new one and they are $3-4k right now
