Purchased 2023 Tundra Platinum a few months ago and took it in for first service and complained about a few things.

Driver side power seat has a thigh extension as one of its multiway adjustments. The thigh extension is not included in my memory seat feature. If i move it forward and my wife gets in and selects her memory button it will adjust every other aspect of the seat but it won't retract the thigh extension. Toyota told me this was by design. Which is BS. I had the exact same seat in my lexus gs350 f sport and the thigh extension was included as part of the memory seat feature.

Anyone have this working in your truck or did Toyota really do this on purpose?

    Thanks
    Kevin

Unfortunately it appears they did this on purpose. My thigh extender is not included in the memory function either. This is what the manual says for my 1794....

I assume then that the power seats in the sr or sr5 only have these features and to save a few bucks they put in the same control unit across all tundra models. Instead of using an updated control unit that I know they have in other vehicles.

thanks for confirming, a bit disappointing for the price of these trucks they couldn’t change out the controller when they put in upgraded 10 way adjustable seat.

The thigh extender on my seat is intermittent. Toyota "fixed" it once. I have to take it back to have them look at it again.

Mine "quit" working on day 2 of ownership. Took it back to the dealer and showed the service writer and one of the techs that it wasn't working. Sat in the waiting room for a few minutes then get called back into the service area where another tech was looking at it and he asks what the problem is. I hit the switch and the stupid thing was working. He claims he didn't do anything. Has been working ever since but I really don't use it much.

I've had gen3 trucks with memory seats so far. I've had to do the seat dance with every one of them and once I do that, I've had zero problems with any of them

i suggest you go back to a lexus then, toyota has never had a memory retention feature on the thigh extension on any toyota model. thats a feature exclusive to lexus models only.

thanks for the oh so helpful suggestion. I have owned 6 Toyota and Lexus in my life and unfortunately this is poorest built Toyota to date. And with the way this $60,000 truck rattles, I may get rid of it sooner than I would like. I just can’t stand rattles in cars.

Yup same here,I honestly don't mind that it doesn't retract, this truck in the whole big picture is pretty damn sweet.
So for me, I'll just chalk it up as a first world gripe so no complaints on my end.

I also have a 2023 Platinum that I picked up two weeks ago. My front leg extension worked at the dealer during delivery when they showed me but starting the next day it hasn't worked since. Don't really need it but pretty lame it's already broken.

Also has anyone else had issues with the driver 1 and 2 memory functions? Mine will only reset the steering wheel and forward/ backward seat function. It won't remember or reset the seat back angle, height or mirrors for some reason...Unless I'm doing it wrong.

Sounds exactly like what I went through with both extenderand memory. Took the truck back to dealer and extender magically started working. They said they didn't do anything to it.

For the memory functions, try moving the seat all the way back, then all the way forward. Then all the way up and down then recline all the way back and forward. Apparently this is supposed to be done before the dealer delivers it. This dance sets the limits. Once I did it, the memory function started working properly.

Thank you so much. I can confirm this made the memory seat function work correctly now after moving the seat in every direction. Did it twice just to be sure and now it moves seat and steering wheel correctly. As soon as you said that I knew my dealer wouldn't have known to do that. During delivery I clearly knew more about the truck than them just from this site and YouTube.

All the plugs and harnesses under the seat were secure for the front leg extension and still can't get it to work. The motor makes a clunk noise when I hit the button in both directions but it doesn't move. I'm short so don't need it but I'll tell the dealer when I get the lift installed or next service.
