I cannot get the 110v outlet in the back seat of my 2023 Tundra Platinum to work. I plug in my computer charger and the computer does not charge. I then plugged in a hair dryer and it did nothing. I took it to the dealer and they claimed there was nothing wrong, so I brought it home, tried the computer charger again and it did not work, then a couple kitchen gadgets that did not work.

I scheduled another service call and they called me back and said "most likely the cord you are using is not compatible." That seemed bogus to me so I asked him to send me a spec for cords that are compatible and he said he couldn't.

Does any of this make any sense to anyone? What kind of devices are others able to use in that outlet? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Nevermind. I dug through the manual, found there is a switch under the steering wheel to turn the outlet on and off.
would have been nice if the dealer would have known that, but I guess that's asking too much....

And it’s still reduced while driving vs parked? On my Tacoma it was 100W/400W. I didn’t want to mess with the bypass so just used a portable 1000W. Doing same in the new Tundra.

I have not been able to check that. My initial suspicion was that maybe it didn't work at all when the truck was moving, but then found out it was the switch. I'll do some more checking now that I at least have it doing something...

There’s a sensor wire from the inverter to the shifter that tells it to go to low power when out of Park. This never made sense to me as the engine is running faster in drive and can generate more power for the higher wattage.
