Recently got a check engine light on my new sequoia. Codes are P2C90 & P2C91 (Crankcase Ventilation hose A & B)
    Truck has 2,200miles on it.

Installed a cold air intake & BOV at 400miles Didn’t have any issues until now.

Has anybody gotten these codes on their truck?

I have an appointment with the dealership on Friday(11/24) to program the second key and I brought up the check engine light. They said they’ll run some diagnostic for $200 an hour. Now I’m wondering if I should remove my Cold air intake.

May have gunked up the mass air flow sensor if you have oiled filters, cold air intakes are hit and miss in my experience, I had a hell of time with my gen 1 tundra and k and n years ago

and 200 hr is a stupid high shop fee ffs, your not hiring a lawyer

+1 with BB, clean ya mass air sensors with mass air flow cleaner. My truck had the same issue with over oiled TRD filters.

Dealership cleaned em and cleared the codes, them boys took care of me. Yo dealership is some douche bags btw…..

    YMMV

Also the blow off valves, don’t back out the screws too much on them, they’ve been know to cause issues as well.

The key is done on Toyota’s dime. Mine took about an hour.

Oh perfect I thought they were going to charge me for the second key.

I only removed 2 out of the 4 screws from the bov. Tightened the other 2 so they don’t fall out.

Haha ya I’m not happy with level of service I got spending 70k on a new truck. They’re nice initially but when the check clears they don’t give a shit about you, you’re just another schmuck.

Does your blowoff valve vent to atmosphere? Or something was damaged when installing the air intake. The crankcase ventilation hoses are right next to where the rubber elbow from the intake connects to the turbocharger.

Ya the bov vents out. I checked the cai and hose fittings. Everything seems to be connected/plugged in. The cai and bov was installed 4months ago. Didn’t have any issues before.
I’ll take out the mass airflow sensor tomorrow to see if it accumulated any buildup.

I would probably get rid of the blowoff valve. It’s not helping you and likely the cause of your CEL. You probably hit just the right conditions to trigger the OBD.

Here's your answer about having blow off valve to vent outside.

    Watch starting 9min :30 sec.

You have 2 mass air flow sensors, one per intake.

your codes don’t indicate a leak condition, so I’m more inclined to think it’s your BOV. In addition you’ll need to clear the codes to know the condition has been corrected.

The truck was at idle in a parking lot for half an hour when the when the light came on.

Lol “don’t go fast and furious in your turbo highlander”.
Ya it seems the newer vehicles are pretty sensitive it’s not meant for all additional modifications on an economical vehicle. The sequoia aren’t a performance vehicles for sure.
Thanks for sharing the video. Very educational.

ya it seems it’s a pretty common issue for a variety of new cars and trucks. Just searching the codes on google its showing up dodge, Toyota and a few others.
I cleared the codes for now.

Haha but I just want to hear the whoosh sound.
Ya definitely not worth adding $150 part to 70k vehicle and have issues like this.

Most OBD codes require some number of trips before triggering unless it’s a permanent code like an open circuit. The CEL will come back but it will take time/trips.
The blowoff valve is taking metered air and removing it from the system by dumping it into the ambient. That creates other problems downstream like creating unnecessarily rich condition, decreasing turbo response time, and maybe others like your CEL. It sounds cool but there really is no performance benefit at all.

I got the same code on my Tundra . Did you ever fix this issue, and if so, what was the solution to the engine code ?
