Please help! A few weeks ago I went to leave for work and my tundra radio/infotainment and backup camera screen was black and wouldn’t turn on. Still 2 weeks later it’s not working. Has anyone had any similar issues and if you have any easy fixes like a fuse or loose wire? The backup camera still comes up on the screen but there is no Bluetooth, radio, navigation or anything. Just the camera when I push the camera button.

When it's in reverse are you able to use any other features on the screen?

Hey sorry for the late response but yes the camera still works just nothing else. We did make an appt with the dealer and it looks like they want to replace the entire system. Thank goodness for warranty

Makes me miss my old 86 Toyota pickup. Never had an issue with it and the only thing electronic on it was the radio haha 380k miles

Sounds like you should take it to the dealers?

Yes we are going to. I appreciate the help. I was hoping it would just be a fuse or something simple like that. But it looks like it is a major defect. I guess they have had seen this same issue with many of the new tundras.

    None
head unit failures are known, but not common. It’s yet another supplier quality issue.

Brought mine to Georgetown Toyota. Had to replace the entire unit based on Toyota Canada’s recommendation. No reason give as to what caused the failure or why.

Hope after it's replaced it works. I've had two replacements within 2 months of purchase and now it's rebooting all the time. Drove on vacation about 300 miles, first 200 everything ok but the last 100 miles it rebooted every few minutes, drove me crazy. Back to Toyota on Monday morning.

Well it may not be a major issue but after spending over 70k I expect things to work. I love the truck but want everything to work as it should, I don't think that's too much to ask. The dealership said they have had a few problems but after replacements were installed it fixed the problem. I'm just not so lucky. There are now looking at wiring to the unit and shorts on the motherboard as well taking care of the several warnings and recalls. I'm sure they will find the problem.

I gave up. I'ts been a year now and the infotainment system still goes crazy now and then. Last trip 2 hours into a 5.5 hour trip no radio and beep every 15 to 20seconds on system reboots that lasted over an hour then reboots evert few minutes, then corrected itself for the rest of the trip. Until we started home then a few reboots but not as bad.
I may be crazy but I traded it in on a 24 tundra. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Talked to sales manager and he told me that now and then a bad car/truck comes in that they just cant fix.(Also said I was the first person that he knew about that was having problems, thats sounds like BS to me) Best thing to do was to trade it in. The old truck is now on the lot with the bad infotainment system. hope you guys with problems have better luck. There seems to be a little difference in the new system so I HOPE the problems are fixed.
Still think a class action suit needs to be made. It seems way too many people are having problems that arn't being fixed.

How was your trade-in experience? Did they give you a fair price for your old truck?

As you can expect I lost out. They had one truck that I liked and was told it had the exact options as my trade, it was close. Their first offer of about 30% loss of the total price of the Truck new (13 months ago 15,000 miles).
I stood up and told the salesman your so far off that I’d be better off selling the truck to car max and buying a Chevy. Manager came over to talk and after a lot of bs We agreed at a price. I did drive the truck 15k for a year but I still feel that I lost out big time. I’m 72 years old and the 2023 was hopefully my last new truck. I get so aggravated when the damn thing reboots it was driving me crazy. Bad thing it’s on their lot with a 9k price over what they paid me. Hope the new owners don’t mind the problem as much as I.
I went back and read your post. You are having the same problem that I did. Mine was replaced within a month of buying the unit then again shortly after and several 30 drive to the dealership. The first thousand miles or so, I had more miles driven back and forth to the dealer than other driving. That’s crazy. I was told the problem may be my phone so I went out and bought a new iPhone 1,200. They asked my to drive without and phones or Bluetooth connected,I disconnected the battery several times overnight for a hard reboot, had family turn off their phones while they were in the car because it was driving everyone crazy. Nothing worked. I hope there is some smart attorney
That can help us all get some money back.
Sorry for the book here but I guess I’m a little pissed. Good news, it seems that my truck was made a month after finding the problems with the engine recalls. I heard dealers are refusing to take them as trade ins. I thought Toyota was one of the best.
I forgot to ask how is your truck?

Still having some issues, but nothing like what you experienced! My truck was also made after the recall cutoff. I don't know if I trust that a few weeks could make that much of a difference. I have thought about trading in for a 2024 as well, but not ready to pull the trigger quite yet.

I don’t know if I made a smart move but I hope I’ll be happy with the new truck. Purchased 1794 trd hybrid. Not sure if that was a smart move either. I probably should have waited for the 25 to come out. I didn’t find any complaints on the 24 infotainment system, yet,
I’ll keep you posted. It’s a shame to spend so much on a truck that drives you crazy. Let’s hope for the best!
