How is the market in your area these days?.

    I recently bought a SR5 for 57000, MSRP was 58300.

I will probably be picking up my 3rd tundra. A platinum hybrid advance. Msrp 70.1k sale price 66k + tonneau cover

or I could do 1794 hybrid msrp 69k sale price 63k.

I think the yota dealerships are not messing around as bad as the big 3 have been with Mark ups. A used 22 platinum 14k miles going for 64k!
I drove 180 miles one way but saved alot on a new one!

Bought my Limited TRDOR at MSRP $60,900. They had two Platinums for $3k under MSRP, but they were both 2wd.

It’s a dealership I’ve connected a lot of people to. It’s where I bought my first TRD pro at. It’s in BFE Michigan. My savings are good but have to add $1500 to ship it to Tx

There are still plenty of stealerships marking up the Pros.

1k for a cat shield not too much of a stretch. $400 for the part (+100/200 markup) 2-3 hrs labor ($300-$450) and another markup can get to $1k easy

    at dealer rates roughly

I saw a Pro and Capstone listed at 90k on a dealer's site this morning. First time I've seen a dealer trying to sell a 13k wrap and 3k underbody protection.

hehe, i get you. its not much different than the TSS packages from GST, cause also regional logic.

add that in with dealer logic and money is made by all to the detriment to your wallet :)

This was exactly my experience buying my tundra the first dealer said an all black sr5 with tss package would be 70k otd went to the next dealer got a limited with 3k off MSRP lol. TSS package isn't for me I just don't see the value in it.

i can see the appeal for lazy people that want something from the dealer with all the work you would have to yourself. its pretty much a SR5 with wheels, trim, interior bits, etc all done for you for a hefty price increase.

it only applies to GST and SET regions though. toyota usa regions are not allowed to do this outside of dealer accessories add ons, not like GST/SET where its a PIO option.

Kept telling dealers TSS package is useless to me. So they just threw it in for free.

Dealer inventory and time of month are big factors when buying.

I got my 1794 for MSRP. They had ~$3000 in dealer installed options. I was able to get them removed. This was 2 weeks ago

And here I thought that $52.6k for a SR5 my dealer is trying to sell me is insane. People can do as they please with their money, buuutttt, $50k+++ for an SR5 is a waste of money.
But on a side note, prices are coming down. Have seen commercials for the big3 offering 0% interest and as much as 10k off MSRP. Toyota better get in the bandwagon soon since they are no competition for the big3 and will be left holding inventory.

Toyota is still tight on inventory with 30 days. I suspect Tundras are less than that. To your point though, the supply is staring catch up. Generally, 60 days on hand and 15 days in transit is a guideline. A snapshot from 4/18 below:

“During March, we saw sales surpass the 1-million mark for a 30-day period for the first time since early September 2021,” said Charlie Chesbrough, Cox Automotive senior economist. “Higher sales have been boosted, in part, by improving inventory, which has been running at around 1.8 million or so for the past several weeks.”

As a result of improving supply, the average new vehicle listing price — the asking price — fell weekly through March to below $47,000 for the first time since December.

“With some brands and segments nearing too-high levels of inventories, we are seeing discounts and incentives increase,” said Chesbrough. “We are beginning to see more incentives, particularly leasing deals, crop up.”

Some Brands Still Have Limited Supply
Foreign brands still have the lowest inventories. The highest inventories were a mix of domestic brands, dominated by Stellantis’ brands, and a mix of luxury makes.

Non-luxury brands with the lowest inventory were Toyota and Kia, under 30 days’ supply, followed by Honda, Subaru, Hyundai, Volkswagen, and Chevrolet, all with below-industry average supply. Luxury brands at the low end were Lexus, with under 30 days’ supply, followed by BMW and Land Rover.

Non-luxury brands with the highest inventory were mostly Stellantis brands, with four among the top for supply. Ram was the highest with 119 days’ supply, followed by Jeep and Chrysler. Luxury brands with the highest inventory were Buick, at 117 days’ supply, followed by Jaguar and Infiniti.

I’m not sure Toyota will make the move like the big 3 do. When I bought my 2018 Silverado I got $15200 off of MSRP with rebates and incentives. You just don’t see Tundras with thousands and thousands off. We might see a few thousand but I doubt Toyota will join the rebate party.

They never have done that, that’s in part why the resale is so high

you can get a few grand off but super rare you get the big 3 10-15k off

    I’m talking pre Covid obviously

They use to. My 20 was $41,xxx MSRP. I bought for $39k OTD. And if the market wasn’t where it was going at the time, I could have gotten it cheaper. They use to also have 0% for 60 months. If they don’t do something I don’t see them moving much inventory. Like I said, $52k+++ is insane for a SR5. No way is there $10-11k more anything when compared to my SR5.

I got $1200 when I bought mine, which was ok at the time. Dealers are so proud of their Lunar Rock trucks like it’s so different, fast forward a few months and I’ve got like 4-5 twinsie trucks I see all the time in my little town.

My local dealer has a 4x4 Army Green SR5 on the lot listed right now for $3400 off MSRP. Not bad, but it’s kind of an odd options configuration. No TRD, but basically everything else. MSRP $56,758 listed at $53,329
