I don't plan on towing anything and I have NO experience with towing period.

    Question1:
But given the trailer Ball mount is not that expensive, Should I get it just for aesthetics?

    Question2:
Is the Paint Film worth the purchase?
Anyone have experience with it saving your hood from scratches?
I commute in the city 99.99% of the time.

If you do not tow do not get it unless you like shin bruises. Does nothing for aesthetics.

Lol, that’s the first time since I joined the very first tundra forum 22 years ago that I have ever read anyone ask if they should get a ball mount for aesthetics.

Are u going to get the ball too or just roll with a ball mount sticking out, ha!

Get the ball mount. Keep it in the truck or in the garage. Use it if you have to tow something. Include it with the truck when you sell it.

I'm such a NEWBIE, i thought the ball and the ball mount were both one of the same. The mount and the ball was my original intent.

I thought it was a cool thing to have the ball mount and ball. Now I know.

no worries man, just have a touch of fun.

whatever you do don’t leave it in if your not towing , all it takes is one shin wrap and you’ll never do it again

I went to school of hard knocks on that one many moons ago

    ooochhh

You can get those cheaper at Canadian Tire.

Canadian Toyota dealers give you a nice little insert to go in the trailer hitch when you take the ball mount out.

I have self healing paint film over 3/4s of my truck. I definitely feel its worth it. I have had my truck for about 8 months. I do not have a scratch on it despite numerous trips into the woods with branches grazing the side, tight parking between vehicles and a ton of highway with no pitting on hood/grill surround. It's also incredibly easy to clean.

Paint protection film is definitely a good idea. Is it worth it? Depends on what they’re charging. You could likely get it done cheaper elsewhere.

Full front PPF should run about $2500 for the Tundra. Have full front on my Tacoma, about $1500…they base off square footage and the amount of tucking they have to do. My truck is over 4 years old and I can see a few spots where the film is pitted so I imagine it would be a pretty good chip/dent if the film wasn’t there.

I will do it for the Tundra too PLUS ceramic coat. It won’t stop damage but it will save me hours detailing. Many hours over the life of the truck but with how OCD I am and how much my time is worth to me, that’s a great investment.

    Individual experience may vary.
