I’m on metric 35s but I kept the weight low on each tire rim combo . I only went up like seven pounds each wheel . Averaging 16.7 across 7 tanks now . What tire did you go with ? Did you adjust for the bigger tire size for mpg calculations?

I’m on STT Pros 305s and wheels are stealth custom series F5s … haven’t adjusted for the bigger tire. Got anymore info on that on how to do that ?

I’m at 5k miles… I’m gonna try and increase my tire pressure for daily driving too see if it helps

Go to this site . Tiresize.com Input your original tire size and your new size . Find out what percentage difference it is . Write that down .
Now even you go through a tank and you divide your mileage against how many gallons filled up.. multiply that number by whatever percentage you got . In my case
340 miles divided by 21.1 gallons = 16.113 multiply that by 7% ( my difference ) =1.12 . I add that 1.12 on 16.11 so my mpg is 17.23 . That was my higher tank in my average .

I’m not a genius so if someone finds something wrong in my math I promise to end my life promptly

I have the same setup on my SR5 and my mpg went from high 19s down to 15s with easy driving. On average though, I am in the 11-13 mpg range I've noticed lately

no sir… but as I mentioned, I’ve heard from others running heavier and bigger tires and getting better mpg so was just curious what people were getting

There are two things you never trust a mans word on...and the fuel mileage of his truck is one. :D

When I had OEM Wildpeaks I was getting 22mpg on highway when under 70mph, sometimes even 23+ mpg. Not everyone will get that, sometimes its how you drive and sometimes its the vehicle. With 35s I am getting about 4mpg less according to the truck display, I saw as high as 19.5-7mpg on a 90 mile highway drive, but its averaging around 18. Calculate the extra size into your results to be more accurate, and remember you more than likely doubled the weight of the tires which greatly effects mileage.

also varies on where you live. Say I live somewhere where the speed limit if 65 and relatively flat vs where I live pretty much everything is uphill in any direction, windy as hell, and the highway is 80mph- I’m going to get worse mpg

I have just over 5000 miles on my pro have nito ridge grapplers on it and am getting just over 16mpg. Dosent matter if I have it eco mode or sport seems to make no difference.

I didn’t spend the money to just swap out stuff.
I love these threads that throw out all these specs but ultimately ignore the biggest factor. Yourself. Your driving habits.

Do you cruise to red lights on the chance that you will get the green to gradually build up speed again? Stop and go traffic? Do you take off easy from lights letting the hybrid work its voodoo? Or do you like to smash on hoes and rep the Turd Pro?

    Lots of stuff!
    ^^^

Has anyone looked at the Toyota app under "Driving Pulse & Tips". It can show how much lead you have in your foot! If you are driving Miss Daisy or practicing for the F1 qualifier :)

My perspective on MPG is a bit different since I use my truck for towing and recreation and always use ~93 octane fuel. My main work vehicle is an electric BMW which costs me $1 per day.

I have Toyo AT3 O/C tires but found super light rims so I didn't gain too much weight on the corners. Heavy treaded tires will not equal good fuel economy. That is the last thing you should do it are looking for good mileage.

If you are adding a new set wheels and tires for off-roading. Then keep the OE ones and use them during the highway driving and to/from work. Then swap out to the off-road tires for those fun weekends :)

What other's claim to get for MPGs, in stock form or any set of mods is completely irrelevant. Even the exact same truck. You have no idea if they're lying, or their dash picture of a great MPG is after a 10 mile down-hill journey with a tail wind, what terrain they drive in or if they have the same driving styles. Gas only has so much energy, so you increase mass then you're going to burn more gas. Don't forget the EPA test mandates don't include 85mph speed runs...so nothing about those numbers on the window sticker has anything to do with your real world use. If you do absolutely nothing new to your truck and the mileage drops, then maybe you have a problem. Otherwise you're just seeing cause-and-effect...

The only way to do a real side-by-side comparison is to have a bunch of guys fill up at the same gas station, do a nice long highway run together and then fill up again and compare notes. That's as close as you'll get to eliminating all other factors.

Speed is my biggest factor. On my 16 mile commute to work, I get 14.x mpg in the winter in any conditions. During the summer, it's 15.5mpg at 70, 16 mpg at 65, 16.5 at 60 and I can get 17.x mpg if I have the HVAC off and hypermile. That trip is 80% highway and stop/go thru 5 stop lights. All those numbers are averaged from 5+ runs; not a dufus single 10-mile dash shot.

IMO, the biggest changes you can make are in your driving style. As for the truck, you can just keep things optimized. Remove unnecessary weight. I only run top tier fuel to keep the system clean, which is going to be more important with your motor. I'd also only run premium fuel since you've got boost. You might see a small increase in MPGs from premium fuel, but never enough to justify the cost. I ran it in my Ecoboost and didn't see a MPG improvement but it felt more responsive.

    Good luck!
