I have a 2024 Platinum with TRD OR Package. Something is clearly wrong with this truck.

Engine runs great, excellent power, decent gas mileage. I don't get it.

No wind noise. Interior very quiet. Disappointed.

Seats are perfectly comfortable, what gives?

The ride is great, well controlled and good road manners, why?

I got a great deal and believe the value of the truck is good in today's market. What?

I'm perfectly happy with my truck, no complaints (besides a broken volume knob and failed side badging).

    I must be missing something!

Hahahahahah I think you should dump that POS stat!!! Go get something used from the last century, you'll be happier with an ignition key, crank windows, manual hubs, and wrenching on it every weekend. :broccoli:/s

I’ve had my 24 limited since Feb and it has been great so far as well. I had a 21 Tacoma trd pro prior that was also build in Texas and I feel the tundra actually has better build quality than my Tacoma. I recently just did a 6 hour round trip drive and it didn’t skip a beat. No constant downshifting like the Tacoma and gets better gas mileage. Best I could do in my Tacoma was around 17. I did take a slight hit to mpg on the tundra when I went up to 34 inch tires. But knew that would happen so I wasn’t concerned. My wife even said this truck is way more comfortable than the Tacoma ever was, so that’s a win in my book!

Wait a sec, really? It's June of '24 and you own a '24 truck.
Oh, okay, I get it. You're talking initial quality.

Get back to us in a year or two, or five. Let's hear the followup and jubilation then. PS. Pulling for you! Some of us still want to want one!

Same as OP, except mine's a Limited. And no broken radio knob.
I expect it to start falling apart, or quite possibly explode, any day now. I'll be sure to let y'all know.

I think I'll trade my perfectly good Tundra in for a POS GMC. GM will surely help me in the lifters.

You should check with your state to see what the lemon law is. Give Toyota a chance to "fix" it. Maybe you can trade for a 22. If not, leave the keys in it and hope someone steals it.

If you are lucky you may find a foolish 22 owner that will trade you straight across that has all the features you are missing. Or if you are really lucky you can trade for a Chevy, Ford or Ram!

I wish everyone in this thread the best of luck. I just feel like posts like these are looking for trouble! I would be quietly enjoying my car and being thankful I don't have the very real issues that are effecting a smallish number of new Tundra owners.

‘23 Platinum here. 100% agreed with OP except no radio knob or side trim issues. Did have the seat panel replaced by the dealer no charge. Went on an outing with some friends yesterday & got many compliments on the amenities. Loving this truck!

Same here. Got the same one as you with the 6.5” truck bed. Super smooth so far. I actually think it drives smoother than my 23 Lexus LX600.

I love my 24 Tundra, especially the color, but, there are issues. So far they're small. Broken seat panel before 9K miles, center console and tailgate that rattle, and some questionable interior quality. Interior looks great, but doesn't feel as high quality and some Toyota's of years past, like my wife's 4Runner. That said, I previously owned F150s, so I'm used to questionable interior quality. Whereas I believe some of the issues are overblown, meaning not as many engine failures are occurring compared to the amount of the trucks on the road to say the sky is falling....yet. Some people are having issues, and I feel for them, especially with the cost of these things nowadays. However, that said, the rate is still small, and I'm not sure it's any worse than the other manufacturers are having with their trucks.

TLDR - Love my truck, but there are small issues. Some people have bigger issues, but it's a small amount. I do hope mine holds up because it's fantastic.

If you start peeling away the body panels, interior and exterior, on a 5th gen 4Runner and compare them to the 3rd gen Tundra, yeah there is a stark difference in quality.

The first time I pulled off an interior trim piece on one of my 5th gen 4Runners I thought "wow these clips are waaaay nicer than anything domestic-built vehicles use". Replacing some of the trim pieces on my 2024 Platinum: the fasteners they use are noticeably cheaper quality. It's a bummer, but I'm also not really surprised. It seems like Toyota had maybe designed some of their own fasteners in-house for previous products but have probably moved to using more standard fasteners in cost-saving measures.

But ultimately, they're fine, and the quality of the interior on my Platinum is as nice as any other premium pickup truck I've been through. Feels fancy in there. Can't speak for the other trim levels though...

I have my fingers crossed with this 2023 Gen 3 Tundra.................Love my SR5 so far and have many build items lined up. Scared about the seized bearing issue's I'm seeing with this engine but hoping its limited to the 1st year 2022's.

We shall see...............I got very lucky with my 2012 Audi S4 (B8). Best car I've ever owned even after the $30k in Stage 3 tune and performance upgrades. Car is a tank...............Hoping the SR5 is the same story, minus the engine mods.

My passenger side molding on my rear door wasn’t even stuck on right then got filth behind it and began to peel off in 200 miles on truck. Went to Toyota they installed a new one. No issues anymore. It’s like a $50 part if you wanna do it yourself.

also have a 24 plat TRD off

No problems here either. I'm leaving on an 800 mile non-stop early tomorrow morning. The bearing thing makes me so nervous I start to dribble a little. Oh wait, no I don't, I actually forget about the low % bearing issue and do think about defensive driving.
