I know the level thing has been asked and asked, and I looked through the thread a with pics too, but has anyone leveled their truck and left the same size tires, just going to an AT like REAL Wildpeaks or KO2s or something? 2in level and 265/60/20s?

I am ALL for the bigger route, but extra spare, speedo calibration, etc., just not positive I'm up for all that. OR...I'm probably vastly overthinking this, lol.

    Thanks!

haven't seen anyone so far that's done a level without larger tires. That said I went from a 265/60/20 to a 275/60/20 which gives you a little bit more side wall and pushes you up to a 33" tire. the OEMs are supposed to be 32.5 but actually come out at 32" . My mpg isn't really hurt that I can tell and the speedometer is off only by a hair. Search tire size calculator for more info. In my opinion the OEMs just look too small. Also look at the tire weight in your choice of ATs as this varies a lot.

I did a leveling kit but like the above poster I went with a 275/60/20. Looks good and I was able to stay with a p rated tire to avoid the weight of the 10 ply.

I would imagine your speedo is about dead on. To the OP, I went with 275/65 and mine is about 2 mph off at 60.

I have a TRD sport. I did the Westcott front only level kit with stock wheels and tires for like 5 months first before I swapped to 35’s Toyo AT3 8 ply cause the wheels took 11 months to get.

    Did you swap the spare?

You've been so much help, thanks again for walking me through the level via PM! I think what still messes me up there is 1.75" - 2" seems to level the sport, AND, some how also level the OR? Yet the sport is .5in lower from the factory. Still throwing me off there, but I'm probably missing something very obvious.

This photo helps immensely as now I know I can "live" with the stock tires on a leveled sport until I have the "bosses" support to go bigger, lol.

This has been one of my biggest concerns in the purchase. $300 compared to the cost of the axle etc. seems to point to swapping the spare, even though I rarely "off road", but 1 time of using a smaller wheel/tire, who knows, lol. Wonder what the cut off is where you need to replace the spare to be safe?

(If I start to OR a ton, I would swap it to ensure I could get home on the trail, of course)

Remember that any lift and any tire change will affect your MPG. Too many people come on here and complain they have shit MPG after 3" lift and 35's

Shouldn't ever be an issue with these trucks

Totally expected! I did a 2in lvl and 34s on my 2020 Sierra and lost 2MPG. I won't be that guy.

I lost about the same with my level and even going to 275/65s. . And I got the recon grappler because they are one of the lightest in that size

Is there an easy place to see the tire weights? Tire rack doesn’t advertise them that I can tell.

Any reprogramming needed for her safety sense?

    thanks!

I believe my got most of the weights at discount tires website. And no, I had no issues with mine. I did keep just a tad bit of rake also

Wow, you weren't joking! We're talking 15-20lbs difference! Gotta go through the tire/wheel thread now, lol. Need something that's good in the rain/snow and less often, mud, but still semi light as I drive a LOT for work. (Not an MPG issue, but if I don't need 65lb tires, I might as well save the weight!). Terra Grapplers are 3 peak rated and still only 47lbs in SL rating. I don't tow, so don't think I need E? (Prob a dumb question, still figuring this all out, lol)

I never had it calibrated with the level or 35’s. Just a wheel alignment. The only thing I did notice was the front 360 camera is a little off from the lift but nothing too crazy.

No, you will be fine with E load tires. . Most of us really don't need them on half ton trucks. I think my recon grappler were a tad lighter than those but you won't find probably any lighter. . Unless you stick with a 275/60
