What's up guys. I keep going back and forth on purchasing a 2024 1794 Off-Road package equipped Tundra (with the TRD leveling kit) vs. finding a good, used 2021 Platinum and modding it out similar to my current 2008. I hate to recreate nearly the identical truck to my 2008 with a 2021 model, but there is a ton to be said for the overall reliability of that generation. That said, I finally got to test drive a 2024 1794 a couple weekends ago and the quality felt pretty solid, and the tech inside was incredible.

What's the verdict on the fit and finish of the new Tundra? I keep seeing Facebook posts, Youtube video reviews, etc. railing on the fit, finish, and overall quality of the new Tundra, especially for a $70k-$80k price tag. What is everyone here's experience? Thanks.

I tracked this pretty close and it seems that the march 2023 time frame is when it took a leap forward for overall fit and finish after a rough launch due to several factors, one being not a single bolt was shared with old truck.

    mine is solid

I couldn't imagine going back to a 2021 after having this, no thanks. That is not saying the old ones are bad at all, I have owned 5 tundras, but this one really is a next gen compared to the last and especially towing performance and stability and ride quality is really improved.

My ‘24 seems pretty dang solid coming out of a 2016 PRO.
Had a ‘23 for a very short while, it was equally solid. (No wind noise, vibrations, weird stuff)

My22 was built 2/22 and has really good build quality. Im really picky and have few complaints about quality. The window seal gap on rear doors is the only item for fit and finish. Mechanically only have gas pedal lag after a cold start and wish the trans would downshift to 1st gear sooner. Squeaks and rattles only have console lid a few tines and some minor noises from the bed if I have the rear window down. The sunroof has made a noise a couple times on rough roads and only when it is cold outside. I’d give it a 9.8/10 for quality.

Nothing, other than it's approaching 250k miles. It has been rock solid, which is why I've considered the 2021.

F and f on my late 2022 SR5 TRD Sport Premium is very good. Have had no issues

My hypothesis has been Toyota released all the trims simultaneously instead of staggering them. Lots of detail variables and not enough time to sweat them all.

This is my first Toyota Tundra, I joined this forum before I pulled the trigger, pretty much did the same as to what your doing now.
I'm coming from a 15 Silverado 5.3 that I super charged and I thought I was in love with that truck, nope.I ordered a Capstone with everything that Toyota had to offer (except the 3" lift) I received my truck back in May of 23 I now have 10K on it, & knock on wood I have had absolutely zero problems with it,this truck has surpassed my expectations and glad that I jumped ship from Chevy.
Just a little off track, but I was gone for a week and literally I was driving a 6 seater golf cart in a 3rd world Country so the roads weren't good by any stretch, with that said once I got back to the States and took my truck out Holy shit I forgot how smooth and quick she is....

Good luck in your decision man I wish you good hunting.

    Cheers!

My 6/23 build 1794 has been flawless so far in 8100 miles. Just don't let the adaptive cruise ride the brakes behind slower moving traffic on a long winding downhill grade, or else the brakes will heat up and shutter. I made that mistake once. Fortunately the shutter went away when the brakes cooled down.

I fully expect my new Tundra to be as reliable as my 2015 was, and it's a much better driving experience all around.

I got mine back in April 23 built Feb 23. I haven't had any issues at all thus far. I've driven up and down the east coast several times last year and will probably be doing that again a few times this year. Racked up 15k miles so far within 10 months and have been doing all of my maintenance myself with no issues.

I bought my '24 middle of November 2023. Since then I have had to do a few modifications to get it ready for it's role as a pilot vehicle. That being said, I have had to get into it pretty deep (i.e. reomval of entire dash, tucking wires under the carpet, running cables along frame and up into cab) and I have been impressed with the simplicity. Toyota doesn't make anything too complicated. And I have taken it apart and put it back together multiple times and it has gone back together great. Currently sitting at 7k miles.

Love my 2024 SR5, am surprised by the road noise though.

Wrestled with same thing, ending up buying a used 2023 with 16k miles. Saved a lot but immediately dumped cash into it for mods and chrome delete stuff.

im happy, just need more mods :hungry:

I got a 2024 1794 TRD a month ago. 600 miles so far. Ive been buying new vehicles since the late 70's. This truck is the smoothest riding, quietest truck I've ever had. All the bells and whistles are taking a while to learn tho. :D

I have a 2022 1794 Advance Pack, owned 1 year as it took that long to get it.......I would buy another tomorrow. Appears the lesser trim trucks battle all sorts of gremlins.

ok, ya, if I have more sound insulation than that would explain it, I wasnt aware there was a difference .

tires do matter though for sure, my old BFGs would howl like crazy

The only noise I have noticed so far is the little filler piece that's on the bottom of the handle you use to close the driver door. And only when I'm jamming with the volume up (probably higher than it should be). ☻

    Nothing.
Only have 100 miles on my '24 but so far, my only issue is that the speakers rattle even at moderate sound levels. Drivability, comfort, and performance are vastly superior to my previous '18 SR5.
