There are a couple of things. Easiest is the spare tire chain. I used a small zip tie to get it shortened up. The other is the bed to frame does not have a rubber or plastic spacer. It is metal to metal and creates a pop or clunk. There is a good thread on here about that with some home remedies. I plan on doing mine in the spring. Yours sounds like the bed to frame (to me).

I doubt its the chain because of the loud rattle. I saw the other post someone puts a zip tie between the bed and frame, Ill try that. The bed to frame DOES have spacers but not where the bed bolts are. Ill send picture later today. Thanks @grnwdjsn

I’d say you’ve got a good chance of actually confirming what the noise is. Your servicing dealer appears to be putting a lot of effort into correcting the issue.

My neighbor said one time, it’s not a real barn if you don’t have a roof leak…I feel like it’s not real truck if you don’t have a rattle or two. :D

Almost sounds like a blown end link or tie rod link which there is a lot in the rear of the truck.

Following, love to find out where it's coming from. Seems to be something from the bed but can't replicate when not driving over bumps so hard to narrow it down when parked. No, jumping in the bed doesn't work

    Lots of stuff!
Time to get that fuel line recall done. Easy access :)

Any little stones stuck on the heat shields? I had a rattle on my Honda and it was a stone. Also, the front swaybar bushings were gone so I got some clunking when the turning.

My truck and my son's truck, which he just got last night, has a rattle over bumps that can only be heard with the back window rolled down. We both assumed it was our tailgates rattling since we've heard about several misaligned tailgates on the Tundras. But who knows? Ours sounds like the tailgate rattling. But if you can hear yours rattling with the windows up, it's probably not the tailgates.

My rattle just started today. It sounds just like a heat shield broken or loose. Only happens when I go over some patched places in the road right before I get to my house. Windows up and about 30 MPH on a curving and patched road. My previous Tacoma had exactly the same noise that got worse until the shield over the cat fell off and I ran over it. Truck has about 7000 miles on it. Never been off road.
The rattle and the driver seat moving is going to drive me crazy. I guess it is time to start a conversation at the dealer. I am going to get under the truck and try to make something rattle. If I find something I will report back.
    thanks

Still no success over here. Ive been told the Hidraulic bed mounts are faulty but since dealer has no RECALL, I cant just start replacing parts will end up with a $200,000 truck.

I guess only wat to know for sure is to put the truck in one of those vibrating cranes and just get under the truck until the culprit is found. In my ares its now over 8 Tundras in the dealer with the same claim and Rattle.

How many others, have this problem and the dealer service says it's normal?

No, it isn't normal, I had a lot of toyota techs inspect it and finally convinced them to change them.

All you need to do is go to your dealer and tell them THAT is the issue. they should authorize the replacement no problem. Tell them other dealers are swapping them out. My problem got fixed 100% My truck feels very different.

I remember having a similar issue with my 2005 Tacoma. Something along the lines of the cab mounts being loose or faulty.

Took mine to the dealer and they're going to try replacing the hydraulic cab mount, but apparently the part is on back order for a couple weeks. So I guess more waiting...
