    Afternoon,

First let me say that I love my Tundra.
I have noticed a concern with my transmission and wanted to touch base with you all for any information
I have notice a sound coming from the trans as I am slowing down, off the gas and brake engaged. It reminds me of the noise that air brakes make when released. The noise occurs at 26mph. It varies is loudness.
I think that I've nailed it down to the trans. I have slowed down with the trans in neutral, applying only the brakes to stop, no sound heard. Once stopped I put the trans in drive and I hear the sound. I can also feel a vibration in the shifter when it makes the noise.
The noise does not always happen and seems to be more consistent when the Trans temp is at its normal operating temp.
There no other concerns with the trans.
Again this always happen when slowing down at 26 mph, maybe a down shift point? Not sure.
I am planning on taking to the dealer next week .
I am hoping for some genuine feed back

    Thank you in advance.

Is it by chance a Hybrid?

Well I do not know then. I was going to say on the hybrids the "hybrid module" is pretty common issue...but never mind. sorry

Does your truck have the air dam? I think you’re probably on the right track thinking it’s something in the transmission, but I’m pretty sure the air dam retracts at 25-26 mph, if you have it. Logic tells me I’d be wrong based off your neutral experiment, but thought it might be worth mentioning.

So how can we tell if it's a Toyota or Aisin transmission?

It's one in the same. Aisin builds them for Toyota. Toyota owns 24% of Aisin and is their largest customer.
I have a new 24 Tundra, my first ever rear wheel drive Toyota & first ever 10 speed transmission. It definitely shifts different than anything I've ever had, but no strange noises that I'm aware of. Keep us posted.

Did you ever find out what is causing the noise? I’m hearing the exact same thing as you describe on mine.

Apparently either Amazon is messed up, or maybe it's something to do with where they're produced(?)

I have a 2024 hybrid 1794 addition. I purchased it new. Since the first day I took it home I heard a sound under the truck when in a drive through coming from under the truck. After 3 trips to the Toyota dealership, they could not make the noise happen. Then they had a corporate mechanic look at it and was finally able to make it make the sound after I put 4,500 miles on it. They tried re-programming it and said it was fixed. I went to pick it up and immediately it was making the sound. Obviously, I did not take it home although they told me to take it, and they would make an appointment for when the corporate mechanic was back. I did not feel comfortable driving something with a transmission issue. They then called me and told me they had to replace the entire Hybrid system. they did this and replaced part of the exhaust? After 2 months they called and said it was still not fixed. They replaced part of the Hyriid again. After all this they found metal shavings in my transmission fluid and my truck was getting stuck in 2nd gear. Now they have had my truck OVER 2 months and have to replace the entire transmission. Along with this and the engine issues they are having with these trucks, these trucks are JUNK. I am a Toyota guy. I am 55 and have had at least 12 Toyotas since 2001 and many before that so I am not one of those Toyota haters. In fact, all I buy is Toyota. I will get out of this truck as soon as I can. I will not be buying another one. I will have to get another brand if I want a truck. I hate to do it but I will be buying some other brand truck as soon as I get rid of this one.

you can say that. I have also heard from a reliable source that 2024 tundras are going to be included in the safety recall for the engines. Unfortunately for me I have a Hybrid so they do not consider it a safety risk since if my engine blows up on me, I can still safely get to the side of the road with the hybrid system.....their is some logic for you. In order for the Hybrids to get what they deserve, which is a new engine just like the rest since they are exactly the same from the same assembly line, is a class action lawsuit.

your best bet is to drive it until it breaks. Unless there are active error codes they can't do anything real other than a relearn/reset. You might want to pay for a fluid and filter change on your dime to start with...

I would think the fact they are replacing the non-hybrid versions they will be forced to admit the engine is sometimes a big problem, hybrid or no. I did see on some list somewhere here, a 24 hybrid built in Apr 24 blew at 49k (?) miles. On the other hand, the only stat I've heard is 1%. Anybody taken a video with a little camera of the inside bottom of their oil pan yet?

I would hope the 1% figure is accurate, and Toyota would fix that. I've been driving Toyota 4x4s for 40 years!
