Congrats. Loving my 2025 Limited TRD OR! Just waiting on my color matched fender flares and then suspension/wheels/tires up next.

99% sure I’m going polished wheels. Was thinking gloss titanium…have run that color on last couple silver trucks and it looks good.

But these are what I’m thinking…

Why do you think there’s such a divide here? Think it’s a generational thing? I’m 40 and don’t mind them on certain vehicles. I also think chrome only belongs on classic muscle cars and trucks.

I dunno, I’m just a little too young for knight rider, I thought maybe it was guys growing up watching kitt. It reminds me of steelies (wheels without hubcaps), or wheels that are so dirty with break dust they turn black. I like everything, chrome, machined, gunmetal/charcaol, silver, gold…I just don’t get black at all…

been trying to come up with a good analogy for black wheels but coming up short. Best I can do is, it’s like going into an ice cream shop and getting the dirt flavored ice cream. haha

Being my first vehicle with black rims I will say they are so much easier to clean and maintain than any chrome, polished or silver painted wheels (Venza, Tacoma) I’ve ever had. Being my truck is white I find it a good contrast with the black wheels.

Nice, ya I’d say murdered out all black and white on black are the two best cases haha. I just like being able to “see” the wheel. Like the forged bbs trd pro wheel would look awesome in gunmetal…but you can barely see it in black.

Not trying to be a hater, don’t listen to me if you like em…but I feel like nobody was running black wheels until like 2015 or something, then it’s like the most popular wheel color out there, like I woke up in some alternate universe where people are giving hormone blockers to children. I just want to go back to my universe.

Lol, I remember back in 2014, decking out my 2006 white Tacoma with chrome mirror covers, chrome door handles, and a chrome grille overlay. And of course, I rolled on some 20-inch chrome rims—because why not? Funny how times change. Now everyone’s covering or painting over chrome, like there’s some kind of secret agenda against it!

Black is my favorite color, until they make something darker.
Black chrome is even better. IMO.
OP, that truck looks great! Post more pics when you pick it up!

Re: Black wheels. Don't mind them, but yes, overdone and getting kinda tired of them.
The TRD O/R 20's are satin black, in between gloss and matte. They don't show dirt like a glossy black would, but not as flat and dull as matte black. Decent compromise.
With that said, I'm hoping to have bronze 18's on mine next spring.

Re: Chrome. One old guy's (pushing 60) perspective and opinion. On my own new stuff, I hate it. It has its place, and trucks ain't it. I LOVE shiny paint, but not what passes for chrome these days.
Give me an old truck or muscle car with REAL chrome bumpers, and I'm loving it.

And yes to the OP, congrats, nice truck!Borat Very Nice.jpg

The TRD OR wheels in 20 inches are painted or powered coated, I am thinking painted since they appear less glossy.

Congrats on your ride, I had heard the Canadian LTD TRD models went with the 20in wheels in 2025 - I wish they hadn't, but it still is a good looking ride!

I love the black wheel look; had them on my 4runner and it looked mean. Easier to clean.

I don't understand and can't get behind the 20" wheels on a truck; just looks awful to me.

Can we just admire the fact that we are a bunch of truck/car nerds on a forum? Oh, and that my first car was a 1980s Honda Civic hatchback that I paid $400 for in 2000. The thing had black steelies and would probably sell for 10,000 now in mint condition, despite it being suuuuper ugly. Point is, these things evolve and art is subjective. Evidently, wheels fit in that category.

Y'all crack me up. You don't care for black wheels, but your trucks in black, white, and 37 shades of gray are ok? How about some bright colors auto manufacturers? I believe the black wheels on my bright flaming orange truck look fantastic and way better than any chrome or polished wheel would look, but that's me. We live in such a drab world anymore. Vehicle colors today are starting to remind me of the book 1984. Everybody needs to conform instead of stand out. Boring!

My first car was a 1985 diesel chevy chevette........literally, the first thing I did was spray paint the steel wheels black!!!! I was decades ahead of the trend

This. My last vehicle was a 2021 white tacoma pro; 16" wheels (black), 33" tires. Loved that thing. More rubber=more better. Now I have 20" silver wheels and they bug more just as much as the chrome.

It is actually a funny story; my brother decided one day to break off the "che" on the badging so it just said vette. A cop pulled me over doing 82 in a 55 at 5am on my way to open a Roy Rogers when I was 16. His exact quote was, "Son it must take a lot of damn work to get this hunk of shit going 82 miles per hour." I said, "I was downhill with the wind, sir." He laughed his ass off and came back and gave me a ticket......but did me a favor and knocked it down so I didn't get reckless driving charge. It got 52 miles to the gallon and was a 5 speed; took about 2.5 miles to go from 0-60 and I put in a new radio and wired cerwin vega house speakers to lay in the hatch thinking it would sound great (I couldn't hear over the engine noise anyway). I do wish I had that thing to commute in these days though!!!! hahahah
