I’m considering going from 275/55R20 to 275/60R20. I don’t want to lose move any movement with my truck on the trails around me. I’m worried the extra size will not allow as much flex. I don’t have any kind of lift. Has anyone had any experience with this? 2008 tundra limited with trd off-road.

If you’re offroading you need to upgrade to 17 or 18”s...

Well I’d say more like overlanding. Around me doesn’t have anything too crazy. Maybe a few small climbs. I also don’t go out all the time. Maybe just on a free weekend here and there. Eventually I’m going to change to that but the money is the issue. I need to buy tires right now regardless, so I’m just trying to figure if it would be worth it to go to the larger size or just keep mine now.

More sidewall, better ride and less flats.

Exactly why I’m thinking of larger for now until I can go to 17 or 18s. Just not sure about any kind of flex with the larger tire or if it’s not an issue at all.

Very true. I also posted to the tundra page on reddit. A guy with a similar size tire says his rubs occasionally when coming out of his driveway. Either it get close or his driveway is jacked up. Lol. I may just stick to the size I have just to have the extra clearance with the suspension flex. When money becomes better, I’ll change to the 17 or 18.
It kind of sucks that Toyota let the limited edition tires overtake the trd off-road package.

Got it for a steal. Only had 132k miles. I got it for $15k or so. I’ll have this thing for a while. So no rush to modify it. Right now it’s used as a commuter 90% of the time. Off road when I have a free weekend or want to go camping. So it works perfectly for that as it is.

I just traded a '18 SR5 for a 2020 Limited, one of the reasons (of many)was the Limited has 18" wheels, much better ride all around. The ride is literally like another type of truck.
