Does anybody have an issue with using the TPWS reset function on their factory installed sensors?

I have the discreet (look like a regular rubber valve stem) sensors, they triggered the warning the day I bought the truck, on the drive home. I returned to the service department to have them programmed using the tech tool (forget the name). Since then, I've added aftermarket wheels with Toyota sensors (but not the rubber valve stem types). The dash mounted reset button worked on these.

Now, I have my original wheels on and the dash mounted reset function doesn't work. I'm probably at square 1 and need to get them programmed at the service department but that's not acceptable to me since there's a dash function for this.

Has anybody experienced similar TPWS reset issues? If so, what's the resolution? Thanks in advance.

Turn vehicle to "on" and not actually start it. Wait until TPMS light finishes flashing, takes a few minutes. Switch screens to tire pressure screen. Hit TPMS reset button until message changes "calibrating". Turn truck on, idle or drive until TPMS system is reset and PSIs show up (can turn "off" then actually start and it's fine). If this doesn't work then sensors may not be compatible/out of battery but highly unlikely in this scenario as they are the original sensors.

Do your original factory wheels have the original TPMS sensors or did you get a new set of sensors for those wheels?

Original sensors in the original wheels.
