Any idea where I could find an '22 Tundra SR5'ish CLOTH power driver's seat? I've looked on eBay etc. to no avail. I can't post a request to the Buy/Sell/Trade section because i haven't posted enough...so here I am.

I'm working on a last ditch plan to replace the terribly uncomfortable seat in my Platinum vs. just trading for a new vehicle.

    Thank....

I’m wondering if you’re having the same issue as I am.

Are the side bolsterings on the seat cushion giving you discomfort? If so, maybe just get a custom-made seat padding that will level out the surface?

For me, it's the bottom of the seat. From what I've seen, this does not exist in the non-leather seats. There is a thread on this in the Forums.

I had a 2023 sr5 before trading up to my 2023 Platinum. I think the platinum is more comfortable. My issue with the sr5 seats were the side bolsters were too close together.

what about the bottom of the seat? If it needs more or less padding there are companies that can do that. Same for katskins type of cover, companies that can install those or leather etc can add or subtract seat foam

You need a new ass. I’ve never seen this level of discomfort from a seat let alone the new gen platinums lol

There are no cloth power seats for the Gen3. I would find your local katzkin installer and have them add padding to your current seat. Or you could always trade your platinum leather seats for the SofTex seats in the limited if you like those better (find a dealer with a Limited to compare). I’m sure some limited owners would prefer the real leather in the Platinum.

OP - I took mine to an upholstery shop and we tore it apart and figured out a semi-workable solution. Let me know if you'd like to see the details, but the long and short of it is adding foam under the existing factory foam to level things out a bit. The problem is that the basin (where your butt goes) sinks deep, while the fan holding metal section (which also happens to be the thigh support) is just a fat, solid sheet of metal across under the thigh at the second seam. By filling in the basin, lifting your booty up a few inches, that metal bar has less impact on your thighs.

Would love to see the inside back of those seats ( where your back rests) as mine has a scrunchy feeling and sound to it.

A cloth seat is not going to be any different than what you have I would think? What are you hoping to gain with the cloth seat because your post is vague.

You can find a good upholstery (auto) place and have them add/redo the places that are giving you troubles.

    Good luck

The cloth seats are more comfortable (at least to me) because they do not have the bulky metal front section. Essentially, that huge piece of sheet metal that holds the fan sits an inch higher than the rest of the seat basket and creates a very noticeable (for some) hard line transition under the second horizontal seam (mid-thigh for me). The cloth seats do not feature the cooling system or the tilt function and so are ironically more comfortable than these fancy, pleather, multi-functional pieces of junk. :p

The lower back section of the seat is also inadequately padded - I agree. And when I shift around, I hear whatever is in there acting as lumbar support 'crunching' around, as mentioned. Overall, it's a very unimpressive seat IMO. Especially for the price point. It may be the reason I end up trading my 23 in as well.

This is the section we filled with additional foam (with help from the upholstery shop - though this is very easy to accomplish at home, alone).

My 23 sr5 with the softex is very uncomfortable. I feel like it’s built up more on the right side making it feel like I’m leaning to the left.
