Getting ready to replace my tires on my 21 tundra and I'm contemplating going with 265/70/18's. I like the idea of the slightly taller clearance and narrower tread foot print for snow and though I know the differences are relatively negligible, anybody here have done this and regretted it? I'm older and as such go buy more old school applications and like being able to dig down to the pavement on snow with the narrower tread pattern, if it makes any sense? I will also be towing a fair amount with anywhere from 4000 to 8000 pounds.

Just make sure the load ratings of the tire you are considering are equal to or greater than the stock tires. Size, width would not be an issue as long as the thinner tire is rated for your tundras 8 inch wide wheels.

Most here go both taller and wider than stock so Im not sure you will have anyone chime in with experience running that size.

They both have identical load ratings and are E rated and both are designated for the 8 inch rims that are on the truck. I am very aware of the proclivity for going wider and realize that it's highly unlikely that many would have gone this route, but in case there has been, I wanted to put it out there.

I ended up getting the 265/70/18r KO3's and so far quite happy. Interestingly, the previous 275 65/18 KO2's I've had on it previously ran the odometer approximately 3 miles an hour faster than actual speed. Verified that with my Waze app as well as all the radar signs as you drive through different areas. With these being a slightly larger diameter, the difference is less than 1 mph at most so it actually makes it more accurate even though it's not factory OEM.
