Per this thread: I should be fine.

"TIRE SIZE WITH AND WITHOUT LIFT KITS:
Note: These recommendations are based on the factory wheels. Using an upgraded rim with different backspacing will allow you to increase to a wider tire.
    First Gen Tundra (2000-2006)
    No Lift Kit
    Max tire sizes are:

    • 16″ rims: 275/70 R16 – 4/10ths wider, half-inch taller than largest factory tire size
    • 17″ rims: 265/70 R17 – one inch taller but same width as factory
    • 17″ rims: 275/65 R17 – 4/10ths wider, half-inch taller than largest factory tire size
    1.5 – 2″ Leveling Kit (or less)
When installing a leveling kit, you might be able to fit some wider tires than what we have listed. It may require some trimming though, but it is possible.
    Max tire sizes are:

    • 16″ rims: 265/75 R16 – one inch taller but same width as factory
    • 17″ rims: 275/70 R17 – 1.5 inches taller and 4/10ths wider than factory"

Although it does mention that wheel backspacing is a factor in fitting tires.

275/70R17 is practically the same width as stock, just a hair wider, but obviously close to 1.5" taller than stock.

Fine. The tires will occasionally rub the UCAs when they get pushed around a lot, but I'm not seeing an significant wear on the UCA or the tire, so it's happening pretty infrequently.

I'll also occasionally get some rubbing when I go full lock with the steering.

I got the General Grabber ATX with the "Snowflake" rating and man did it make a huge improvement in snow performance.

Tires were not cheap though. $208 each, $930 total mounted and balanced.

My only complaint is them being E-Rated they are pretty stiff offroad even when aired down to below 30 psi.

Right on man. Thats encouraging. Thanks fir the reply. What kind of offset are your rims? Im buying new rims for spring so If you're running stock rims im hoping that the right offset can eliminate the rubbing if its only happening a bit with you. Im gonna run falken wildpeaks at3w. Ginna go c rated 6 ply. In the end are you glad you went with this size?
