I wasn’t big on the stock tires on my 2019 Tundra, so I decided to change them out right away. I went with the 285/70r18 Nitto Ridge Grappler. I was going to do 295’s, but I didn’t want any chance of rubbing. There aren’t many options in the 285 size, but so far I like these.

Nice, I have the same set of tires, I’m really impressed with how quite they are for such a aggressive tread. They do great in the sandy trials I run my truck in, looking forward to some deep snow to see how they handled. Great looking truck.

Thanks! I’m interested to see how they do. I’ve had a few sets of BFG KO2s on other trucks in the past, but I’ve never had these.

Looks amazing! Now that you have them on there do you think the 295 would have rubbed?

Thanks! It’s hard to say. If you look at Nitto’s sizing chart the 295 is barely bigger in width and height compared to the 285. If their chart holds true I don’t think it would rub. I’m around .5” from rubbing in the front, and I have a ton of room in the back (rear mud flap). I’m also clearing the UCA by a decent amount. If anything, I would think that you may have to remove the small, front flap. Here’s some screenshots from their site.

Interesting. Almost 10 lbs lighter per tire. Truck looks awesome by the way.

Thanks! Yep, that's why I ended up doing the 285's instead of the 295's. 10lbs is a big deal for me compared to the size difference of the 295.

Ha...good eye! Those are Method Grids in the Titanium color that went on the wife's 4Runner. Now I have to try to sell her stock TRD Off Road wheels.

Looks great! I asked you in the thread about my lift what size tires you have- now I know! Are the PRO wheels the same offset as the regular TRD wheels. Wonder if 285s would rub in mine with 1.5” inch level.

I believe that read somewhere that they are +60 offset, so they should still be the same. Maybe someone can confirm that. I think you would be fine with 285/70 on 1.5". The wheel offset has a lot to do with wether they rub or not.

I'm guessing that I would probably rub in the front with 285/75.

Will do! So far they are great on the road. Maybe just barely louder than the stock michelins, and they ride nice.

They fit on my truck stock with no issues, but my truck is a Pro and sits up a bit higher in the front.
