    Anyone running Toyo AT3 in 285/75/18? (34.8x11.3x18)

Very interested in going with this tire but I’m thinking the 11.3 will look too skinny for my liking.

I really want to stick with 12.50”
Wide but Toyo’s 35x12.50x18 is only made in D and F load and I am looking for E load. (Of course their 35x12.50x17 is E load, lol)

This makes me pull towards BFG’s Ko2 in 305/70/18 (E load) which is 34.8” tall and 12.2” wide but I keep hearing the Ko2 sucks on wet pavement!

    pics anyone?

Toyo AT3’s are much better in the snow than the KO2’s.

Thanks. good to know, however, no snow very often here in GA. What’s your offset on your Methods? Looking good.

How’s the dirt slingage? Lol. That’s borderline flare country in my opinion.

285/75 will be my next choice. It's what I wanted but that size was on national back order with no timeline for getting them. I was in need tires now mode so settled for 275/70. And not to skinny in my opinion.

Sounds good. I’m hoping I can clear my SPC UCAs with them since they are over an inch skinnier than my current 33x12.50. This was a test fit with 35x12.50 Toyo AT3 lol.. couldnt even get the wheel on the hub. New wheels just isn’t in the budget right now, but gonna go to Methods 703 down the road (17” w +35)

Subjective tastes aside, I settled on 285/75s because I wanted the tallest tire (read: most ground clearance possible) with a 2” lift.

285/75R18 (34.8” tall) is a slightly taller tire than 35x12.5s (34.5” tall), but they usually weigh quite a bit less due to being an inch narrower.

Your truck will perform a little better with 285/75s, and have about 0.15” more ground clearance than 35x12.5s. Will it have the look you want? Only you can answer that. I’m pretty happy with mine even though my truck has a bit less pep in its step than when it had the factory tires on it.

PS: 285/75s clear the factory UCAs on factory offset wheels no problem.

Good to know I can leave the spacers behind then. You’re right. I just like the idea of 12.50s for the increased contact patch. Thanks everyone.

I have Yokohamas in 285/75 and they do not look too skinny. I have also gotten compliments on how “beefy” my trucks tires are.

It’s a big tire when you have it in your hands.

Do you get 60k out of them? I’ve run plenty of Toyo oc mt and out of 4 the first 2 sets got 45k. The last 2 got less than 30k. Could’ve still drove em but they road like dog shit. I then ran BFG km3s and they lasted well (45k) plus quiet and great in the snow & mud while being just okay in rain. Fast forward to my current tundra with KO2s these things won’t die. Been trying to replace them but still ride fine except for rain. They slip like a sob. But still ride exceptionally well for 5/32 on front and 7/32 on rear with 59k miles on them. I’m amazed. Thinking of going with the same tire next as I do not want to mess up a good thing. With all my tires I haven’t been this impressed with the ride at such high miles. Toyo AT3 claims 50k have you seen that? How is the ride after they wear down.

Yup, wider tires will do that. 275/70 is great so for, hopefully the 1/4" each side won't be too bad once I go 285/75.

Makes sense. I will admit, the E ply on my 4Runner helped a lot while off road. The Tundra doesn’t see much off road. :(

45k is damn good for an MT lol. Can’t speak for the AT but I hope the others will chime in. Also Ko2 has a 50k warranty while the AT3 is 65k. I hear over and over the ko2 sucks on wet pavement

fair! It’s just annoying Toyo made the 35x12.50x17 in E load but not the 18 lol only d and f load. This is per their website looking at all sizes/specs for the At3

It doesn’t make sense at all. Maybe get 17s? Method makes a few nice 17 inch wheels for our trucks

Makes sense to me :notsure: : E rates are great for heavy duty off road driving. Anyone that plans for that knows they’ll be airing down. 17” wheels mean more rubber once aired down. Perfect sense.:)

What didn’t make sense was Toyo making a D ply and F ply, but no E ply in the 18. I’m well aware of airing down and more rubber once aired down :)
