My Tundra came with 285 55R20 BF KO2. Now is time to replace. The 275 60R20s KO2 are about $90 cheaper and look bigger? Stock suspension. What is the better tire?

will be getting Bilsteins all around to middle setting in front eventually. If I need to do this sooner, that is fine

285/55/20 is an LT size tire. More heavy duty with thicker sidewalls and deeper tread.

275/60/20 is a P metric size tire. Designed for light duty and geared towards more highway use with a smaller tread depth.

that’s why the 285 is more expensive.

The 285 is much heavier as a result...

The 285/55 weighs the same as the 275/60

Then it can't be a P vs LT. I've been looking at tires, and the P version of the falken stock size (on my 18's is 275/65) is 48 pounds where the same stock size LT is ~61 pounds.

    https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tires/falken-wildpeak-a-t3w

On the KO2's, both sizes for the 20's are LT's at 56 pounds per.

Could just be a size pricing. 275/60 is more common than 285/55.

Thanks. Do you think I’ll notice a difference going from 285 55R20s to the 275 60R0s? I just want the biggest tire to fill the wheel wheels. The flares make them really tucked in. I know it won’t fix that but want to fill as much of it as possible

I've got 285 75r18 nitto terra grapplers. I specifically wanted 285's for the same reason, they filled in the wheel wells better.

I personally think my 285/55/20's look small. I have some lift and it might take some trimming and bending but my next tire will be a 275/65/20.

20's.. sigh. I need to quit buying everything else and finally get some better wheels.

It’s about a $400 price difference. Thinking about going 275 60R20s and Bilstein 5100/5160 tears. I don’t off road but think the 6112s might be overkill. I am looking for the best ride quality

I'd go 275/65/20. Fit my 2020 at stock ride height.

Thanks! That looks good. This is how the 285 55R20s look. Came like this from Dealer
