Well I made the jump a couple weeks ago now and can say I love the new truck. Makes me want to look back at it every time I’m walking away. It’s faster, more comfortable and in my opinion looks a lot nicer, though I still like the sequoia front end better. I miss the color and the noise of the 2nd gen and that’s it.
I’ve already installed the westcott collar lift and 35s. Drives great, and much more planted with the 0 offset wider wheels and tires. Just need to offload my 500 mile stock wheels now so I can get a tonneau cover and either steps or sliders.

In had a ‘21 PRO and went to a ‘22. The new one is so much better in every way. The last generation looks super dated now.

Same boat. 21' TRD Pro to a 23' TRD Pro. Not a single thing I miss other than exhaust sound and that isn't even a big deal. Much faster, more torque, better transmission, much better ride and rear suspension compliance, and just a fun truck to drive. Absolutely love the engine/transmission combo. Those who owned both have much different comments than speculators it seems, and living with the truck vs test drive leaves even a bigger appreciation over time for the improvements in the 3rd gen.

Yeah, most of the “hate” comes from people that haven’t driven both. The 2nd generation feels (and looks) like a dinosaur now.

You are right about living with it to really appreciate it. The more I drive it, the more I like it. The camera system is amazing, and one of the best things I like about it, especially with the bad turning radius (would be nice if theres ever a "fix" for this). I've been looking into the @dirtydeeds exhaust. From what I've heard, it would make me miss the v8 even less. I'm hoping to hear one in person though, because it might be just a tad too loud for me.
