Negotiated the TRD 3” lift and install with the purchase of my ‘24 Platinum TRD OR. Called the dealer to see when they expected the lift in when I was told they didn’t have anything coming in. They looked into it and told me there’s a stop sale, but no other information was available.

Contacted my local service center who dug into it for me a little deeper. They said there’s an issue when installing on the 24’s. Information only. But if anyone hears anything let’s update here.

    Lots of stuff!
    Something is off with this!

What changed in the models? Your truck would have the same suspension that mine has so maybe something with the CV’s that they didn’t like or the sensors not calibrating after the height change?

If you really want a lift, there are many suppliers in the aftermarket or you could grab a take off TRD Pro suspension from the marketplace.

Also the dealer installed lift is quite pricy compared to everything else out there. Make sure they don’t charge you for it in your deal.

Yea. I got the price down to where I was happy then negotiated the lift and install at that same price.
Initially I was thinking they were trying to scam me out of it, hoping I wouldn’t be willing to make the drive back to them for the install. That’s when I called the local dealer to see if they could order it. Parts guy who was super helpful saw the stop sale order and called over to Toyota corporate. That’s all he reported to me was something changed and there’s issues with the install.

I had the same thought about “what could have changed?” One conclusion I came to is that nothing changed, but maybe the issue is with the TRD skid plate not being compatible with the lift. I’ve read on the those aren’t compatible (kind of a significant oversight IMO). Pure speculation though.

I’ve been told it has to do with one of the install tools required for the kit. Sounds like it failed in some applications so they stopped selling until they can figure it out

This is true in Canada as well ! My kit is at the dealership but won’t see truck for another month . They should have tooling figured out by then . It was a Narrow miss apparently !

@ryanwgregg ah, good info. Thanks for the heads up. That makes sense since I know they’re still doing the at the factory. Hopefully pushing out a fix to dealerships sooner than later.

Mine is 2024 w/ the TRD lift from the factory. Maybe true the dealerships need the correct tools to install but as far as compatibility is concerned if the factory can do it seems to be OK. Had no issues with mine. Only annoyance was at the factory they remove factory fog lights to ensure compliance with a few random state laws but no big deal just installed new ones in 5 minutes.

What do you have to do to fix this? Just install new bulbs? Mine comes within the next week, lift added at the factory.

Just buy foglights from someone here that are new and they just took off for a swap. Little plastic thing comes off on the bumper, plug them in, 2 bolts, put back together and done. 5 minutes tops.

So , truck will be here Thursday . Lift is on the shelf waiting . Wheels and tires are waiting . I suggested I take the coil over kits and get them assembled somewhere else . No liability ? They install kit with coil overs compete . Nope ,, stop sale means they can’t invoice a kit . Although , they would have :(

Hmm , can I fit 295/70/18’s on +10 wheels . I’m going to test fit on the 23 tomorrow for shits and giggles lol . I might get away with new tires on stock wheels until the Toyota farm figures it out . Kinda bummed about it all !

Hmm, wonder if you can still order one from the OEM sites that show them in stock. I was debating it but i'm just going to wescott level until I need new tires.

They can’t generate an invoice for a TRD lift without getting flagged . My lift has been on the shelf at the dealer for months . I wanted to secure it lol ! I’m sure you can order the kit , just can’t get it installed . Man, I miss the ole days ffs !

Thanks for the info, I am going to ask my dealer about it when my truck arrives in a few weeks. I'm really wondering how much they'll want for the install, $2,500 for the kit is fair.

Picked up my new truck today and got some news on the stop sale . I heard that the fix is complete for the lift but they have to get back all the faulty jaws for the old spring compressor before releasing new ones to dealers . They don’t want a mixup and the wrong ones used again . Fact or fiction , I dunno but a Toyota big shot was visiting the dealership this week and the news came from him . Hopefully it’s true so I can get that lift on and the wheels and tires soon.

I just got a 2024 Limited crewmax and got a quote for the install of the TRD 3" Lift kit. The dealership said it's 20 hours of labor at a rate of $135 an hour for a total of $2700. Labor rates may vary by location I'm guessing.

i think its due to the spring compressor problem at dealers, they are taken out of service.

Toyota is now supplying already assembled shock/spring assembly for warranty work. This includes specific warranty part numbers for the TRD 3-inch Suspension Lift Kit Shock/Spring Assembly.

There is not permanent solution available to fix the strut compressor that is currently unable to be used by dealership.

They should just supply it built anyhow, it's just the top cap thats needed and it's not adjustable.

Hate paying for something that’s hung up on a (beep beep) tool !!!! Those of us that financed the lift and are paying for something we don’t have , or have access too should be compensated imo . I’ll install it myself if they would release the damn thing Grrrrrrr !!

The dealership I bought my truck from has started to install the Readylift 3" system since they cannot install the TRD lift. Has anyone installed that lift, and if so, what is your experience with it? I'm really leaning towards the TRD lift as it more of a complete system, but that price tag will put a dent in the wallet.

    No experience with ready lift.

My dealership offered to have an outside shop “install a 3in lift they say has all the same parts”. I opted to wait. I negotiated the lift into my deal after I got the price down to where I was happy even without the lift. If nothing else to have it warrantied

If I had negotiated the lift into my purchase of the truck, I'd definitely would wait to have the TRD lift installed. I have not found another manufacturer's lift kit that offers the same parts and achieves the lift the same way as the TRD lift. It appears most lift kit manufacturers have a differential drop bracket included to avoid binding of the CV joints, where the TRD lift provides new axles. There are a few other components, such as rear brake line that are longer, and I believe a way to correct the lower ball joint angle. I do not see those parts included in other lift kits.

That is what I found also when looking into it. After I was able to get it into my contact, I stopped researching other options.
