I’m planning to level my 2024 SR5 4WD with an Eibach ride height adjustable shock that provides either 0, 0.9, 1.7, or 2.6 inches of lift depending on where you set it. I’ve been looking all over this forum and it’s riddled with people saying the Rough Country 1.75 inch leveling kit put them either perfectly level or actually 0.5 inches higher in the front than the back. I just don’t get it. I measure a full 3 inches of rake no matter where I measure from (center hub to fender flare, ground to fender flare, top of tire to fender flare). I was planning to set for a 1.7 inch lift and maintain about 1.25 inches of rake. I find it hard to believe that some people only have 1.25 to 1.75 inches of rake on a stock full size truck. I didn’t find a single person who provided actual before and after measurements. So, now I’m second guessing my situation. I’m just looking for some input here or some actual measurements from people. Thanks for your help.

Just set aside 500$ for airbags since you'll be researching those after putting 1K lbs of something in the bed the first time and you're looking at the sky.

not to mention all the other drivers you'll be blinding with your headlights pointed up...I bet almost no one that levels has the headlights re-aimed...also costs mpg as it hurts aero lol

I can't say I have real data to back this up, but it almost seems like 1: Most kits raise these trucks more than the advertised amount. 2: any leveling kit looks different any any 2 trucks.
Again can't say it's factual but I'll see one kit on one truck and it'll look great. I'll the the same kit on another tundra and it looks like it's hauling shingles around. Even my truck, a 1/2" spacer (which claims 1" of lift) on top of a trd offroad strut makes my truck absolutely as level as can be. So who knows??

Because the fender opening is larger on the steer axle on almost every truck. Measure from the ground to a level body line instead.

@Duckinatruck You could head to your local Toyo dealer and take measurements of the TRD lift 3 inch kit, compare with other kits your researching.

I had the TRD lift installed week ago. The very next day drove 1,090 miles - truck was still very comfortable.

What I don’t really care for the front being higher - dealer said let it settle - After a 1k trip, see little change and I’m driving the same route home next weekend, maybe by then - I know it won’t be 100% level.

On point for headlights to be adjusted after lift. My dealer said tech adjusted headlights - evidently not enough I’m blinding them.

    at 70 I averaged 20 mpg
    at 70 I averaged 18 mpg
Added weight - lift, Retrax, and tires

Well, you see, I have this real convenient little knob inside my cabin that makes that as easy as can be.

That’s why I’m still trying to keep about 1.25 inches of rake and not be completely level. And why I am researching.

What’s everyone’s obsession with being leveled. It’s a truck. If there is no room to compress the rear suspension how you gonna haul or tow anything? One of the bad things that the internet and forums did, was make everyone want to customize their truck to look like everyone else’s. I remember the 90’s when trucks all looked different when modded. Truckin and mini truckin magazine were the only places to see custom trucks that you didn’t encounter in your area. Now all the trucks here are leveled with methods and blacked out.

That’s a good idea about measuring a dealership truck. My lift/level will be accomplished by nothing more than new shocks (even uses OE springs), so the weight is pretty much negligible. And I already put new AT tires on it about 6 months ago. I kept those stock size and standard load, so I minimized my weight from that standpoint. The only difference will be a new shock that seats my spring higher. So, any MPG difference will be from aerodynamics only.

Not obsessed, just interested. And like I said, my goal is to keep 1.25 inches of rake and I have measured and picked my method accordingly. But, I’m seeing people on the forum saying they are nose high with a mere 1.75 inch lift, which doesn’t make sense to me because I have 3 inches of rake stock.

    Lots of stuff!
There are many different suspension configurations and many different options to adjust the height in the front and rear. Also how you load the truck will change the way it sits.

In my case, I have the TRD OR suspension and I did the 1.75 RC up front. Then after about 6 months of carrying around my camping gear, DB cover rack and tent and sometimes trailer, I found it was a bit nose up. I added some Westcott 1" spacers in the rear and that made it level with all my stuff on and in the bed.

It depends on what you have to start with and where you want to be after adding stuff.

You can't determine level if what you're measuring to (front to rear fender flares in your case) isn't sitting on the same plane.
You don't have as much rake as you think you have.

My factory stock height Limited TRDOR measures exactly 1.75 higher in the rear from perfectly level floor to the bottom of the rocker panel.
Since that is just the distance of the crew cab, and not the length of the entire truck, the actual amount will be slightly more.
To me the stock rake isn't stinkbug stance, and I don't find it objectionable at all.

Like @KNABORES stated, it's a truck. I haul and tow stuff. For my purposes, I'm leaving it as-is.
    YMMV.

Thanks for providing a measurement. I will check mine for comparison.

Is this what happened to you? Your profile says Dobinson lift. What amount of front and rear lift does that provide?

I measured to the bottom of the rocker and got 2 inches. Thanks for the objective advice. I might go with the 0.9 inch placement versus the 1.7 inch.

On the 2021 I did a 2.5” all around Dobinsons lift with coilovers in the front and new springs in the back. Resulted in about 2.5-3” lift on all corners from my measurements. This then maintained the factory rake unloaded. I have sumo springs in the rear too so even with 2500lbs or so in the bed it’s not quite level.

    Weee wooo weee wooo…..

Oh no I need to run before the payload police get here!
