    Hi everyone, I’m sure this has been discussed before, but I was hoping to get some advise or maybe suggestions on where I should get my truck lifted in the LA/OC area.

    I’m not very knowledgeable in lifting, but i was thinking a 2-3 inch spacer lift . Mostly using it for aesthetics and some camping here and there. It’ll be my everyday driver so nothing crazy. I am looking to keep my stock TRD wheels. Just wanna go as big as I can without rubbing or if it does rub I would not mind cutting some of the fender liner (saw someone did this to their TRD Pro). Anywho, the two local shops I went to said it was impossible to run my stock wheels on any big tire, which I find hard to believe since I’ve seen pictures on here of people doing so. I currently have 275/70/18

    if you guys have any idea on what Set up I should get to run 35inch tires On my trd wheels I would appreciate it. Any brands or kits would be appreciated. Thank you

    Would also like to throw on some red TRD springs. Are they worth it ?

    Search around on here it can be done.
    I run 285/75/18, which measure 35” tall, on the stock wheels. Running Bilstein 5100 shocks up front and no wheel spacers.

    Lots of valuable information under the garage section sub section, suspension/ wheels/ tires, all there to research by members here with feedback, pros and cons, brands, budget, type of lift, etc...you get it...35s are doable with the right lift clearance and stock wheels. Good luck.

    I agree that you should look into something like Bilstein 5100 or 6112 to lift the front. They are adjustable shocks and can be bought for just a little more money than a spacer lift. Much better platform than a spacer. As far as tires go you can mount 35x12.5 on your factory wheels but there are limitations. There are a few brands of 35x12.5 that run “small” and reduce the risk the rubbing on the UCA, fender, and BM but theres no guarantee and you would need to be prepared to address those issues if they would arise. Many on here (myself included) opt for 295/70 r18 on the factory wheels as they are ever so slightly smaller than a true 35” and significantly reduce the risk of having rubbing issues. Use the search function and do some digging on here. Theres tons of good info. Good luck.

    Depends on if you're willing to use spacers or not, coupled with if you want to remain "in spec" or follow manufactures guidelines. Most tires are not going to recommend running anything larger than a 11.5" width tire on an 8" wide wheel. This leaves you with tires in the 295 width variety. Can you run a 305, or 315 or "12.5"? sure, but you risk losing the bead even when fully inflated more so when airing down.

    If you're set on height (diameter) needing to be as close to 35" as possible, I would look for 285/75r18 tires which puts you at about 11.2" width. That improves UCA clearance, sway bar clearance, etc. As always, this is only for nominal tire sizes (size in name only.. kind of like a 2x4 not really being 2"x4"). each specific manufacturer's tire has different diameters and widths even though they all claim to be a 295/70r18 for example.

    If you're dead set on 35"x12" on an 18" wheel, doing things the right way will require some trimming of your truck and a new set of 18x9" wheels with 25mm-40mm offset to clear the tires from your UCA. It will also require a minimum of 2" lift. Thats a lot of rolling weight and stiffness that a spacer lift is going to show you every imperfection in the road. There are some great "entry level" leveling replacement coilovers from Fox, eibach, Toytec, etc in the $1000k range. Imo, it's worth it if you're going to drop almost $1800-2k on tires then another $1500 on wheels.

    35x12.50x20 on TSS wheels. You gotta run wheel spacers to keep it away from the UCA. 3" Front lift 1.5 Rear Lift.

    Thank you, that’s a lot of great advice. What’s your input on the bf Goodrich KO2 ? Those are the ones I was thinking of putting on. Say I do a Bilstein, will it rub in front?
    If they’re they’re adjustable, Does that mean it gives me several options on how high I wanna go? Or ?

    How thick? I currently have 1.25” Spider wheel spacers. I barely rub on a full turn. But then again I don’t have a lift on it yet.

    Those are what I am running as well. Those will work. I also have a cab mount chop though. If I didnt I would for sure hit it with my 35's

    Appreciate all the advice fellas, sounds like I should look into Bilsteins instead of spacers.
    What’s a cab mount chop? And how does that look?

    You can run 35x12.50r18 fine on the TRD wheels. My local dealer mounted mines with no issue. I've ran them with 1.25 spidertrax spacers and currently run them with 1.75 BORA spacers. 3" lift is fine, just going to have to remove your mudflaps, heat/cut or remove the liners on the front bumper and install some bumper shims to push out the bumper .5" just for some extra room. I didn't have to do a BMC but if I remember correctly I run a little more than 4 degrees of caster on my alignment to stay off the body mount.

    Thinking of going back to my stock wheels wrapped with 35x12.5 Trail Grapplers because wide wheels suck! Sitting on a 7 inch lift.

    I run the Coachbuilder TRD PRO kit. Adds an inch of lift to the front Pro suspension which already sits at 2" for a total of 3" and the +3 shackles from the kit lifts the real about 1.75". So 3" front lift and 1.75" rear lift.

    Metric vs standard sizing. Represented as follows: 285/75r18 =

    285mm width of the tire = 11.2" width
    75= 75% of width for sidewall aspect ratio = 285 x.75 = approximately 213mm which = 8.4" of sidewall height.
    r18 = wheel diameter of 18"

    So a 285/75r18 is approximately 11.2" wide, with a diameter of 18" (wheel) + 8.4" + 8.4" = 34.8" overall tire diameter.

    Thanks all of you for great info... exactly what I have been searching for... question is with a 3" lift front and 1" rear.... without spacers on the TRD BBS wheels on a 2021 Limited.... is rubbing expected? before I go spend the $$ on the tires just to find out they won't work for me would sure like to hear from someone that has attempted this or better yea has been successful at it.... Thanks again

    With 35x12.50s you're gonna rub the stock UCA without wheel spacers on the TRD and BBS wheels. 18" TRD wheels and 18" BBS wheels are both +60 offset so they're super tucked. Rock warrior wheels for example are +50 and those just barely clear the stock UCAs with 35x12.50s.

    I don't know much about spacers.... what are the pros and cons... does it change much? or just get the wide tire out of the deep inside?? Thanks for the heads up

    Lot of good info in here. I'm running coachbuilder .5" shims on top of my pro suspension and the +3 shackles in the back, same as @Ryuu without the spacers due to the offset on my wheels. If you need a knowledgeable shop, I would recommend BajaHQ in San Juan Capistrano. They just did my body mount chop, put on gusseted knuckles/spindles and mounted up some 315/70r17 on mine

    what’s the difference between the 5100 and the 6112? I do alot of camping and basic off roading, nothing crazy.

    Which type of tires did you get? And do they rub at all?

    If you have a photo that’ll be great :)

    Guys, what is cut/removed for a body mount chop? The local shops around here suggest that even with a 35x11.50.

    They cut a portion of the body mount and weld on a plate for more clearance. Search it on here you’ll see tons of us do it.

    To my understanding they help certain wheel sizes against rubbing and just flare the tires out a little.

    by the looks of your questions i'd pay a quick visit to the suspension forum here on the site. 9/10 of the answers to your questions are there and a whole lot of info you might not even know to ask.
