stock/PRO wheels are +60 offset. 1250 tires on those rims will be hitting several areas on the truck including the uca. You need wheels with lower offset to run 1250 tires or you could run some wheel spacers.

I am already running 1.25" spidertrax spacers and have a lift on top of the Pro Suspension (coachbuilder).

Understand this isnt a very desirable setup but am seeing this tire size on the new 3rd gens / BBS wheels and love the look

Yeah you don’t see this setup too often probably given 17s make more sense and when you see 18” 37s bfgs are $600 a pop :spending:

Biggest ive seen is 35. Some wheel/tire shops dont even want to mount a 37 to the BBS wheel because the wheel itself isn't wide enough. At least thats what the shops say. I think its definitely doable. Ill actually have a set of 5 BBS wheels for sale pretty soon if you are interested message me. Im in SoCal.

Ah, so your photo and thought you were on those methods. I currently have 1.25 boras on my BBS wheels with 33". Never had an issue with the spacers but would rather not have them, thus i'm switching to methods in a 0 offset once these tires go out. If you end up doing it though, post some photos!

problems running those set up for me is:
    1. Need wheel spacer to clear UCA and swaybar. (not a fan of spacers)
    2. 18 inch 37s are super expensive even compared to 17inch 37s.

    thats about it for me.

just for arguments sake, a 35x12.5 tire is just as wide as a 37x12.5 tire so it's probably not the width. ps. I am a fan of the look of trdpro bbs wheels.

coachbuilder shims. They are .25” but provide a .50” lift. Easy and cheap way to get another 1” on top of the pro suspension to clear 35s

Not all 12.50 tires are the same width... Mickey Thompson Baja Boss MT's are wider than 12.5 and come in at 13". Just an FYI that I missed

yeah and for that reason I’d probably go with BFG since they run a tad smaller than most.

Yea it’s like almost 2x more expensive than a 37/17. Another reason I’m going to a 17” wheel. Plus my wife’s Rubicon is on 17s, my FJ is on 17s and the FJ on KO2 so i figure If i ever need a spare in an emergency if I’ve already gone through the tundras I can grab one of those

I've been looking at them, one probelm for 37s in 18"s is weight, they weight about 80lbs per tire, since you have skinny 35s like I do, that's about almost 15-20lbs additional rotating mass.

BUT, I've calculated a way to go up to 37s AND keep performance if not gain a little bit.

KO2 has 37x12.50r17 that's Raptor spec, it's 116C load index, the tires weight 63lbs, which is about 3lbs lighter than my AT3W in skinny 35, Titan 7 has TAK2 wheels in 17x9s that weights 19lbs for Tundras with right load index vs our BBS at around 27lbs.

So our skinny 35s on BBS weight around 92lbs per corner, Raptor spec 37 + Titan 7 wheel is around 82lbs per corner, saving of 10lbs per corner on rotating mass.

all true but do keep in mind that its not only the weight, its also the leverage arm (radius) increase that also contributes to the drag.

Yes, increase diameter also increase contact patch, but Ford's Spec KO2 has slightly smaller contact width, they did that originally with the gen 1 Raptor on the 315/70r17 as well.

Hopefully I can find out if my theory is correct, been logging the truck with racelogic for tuning, if I'm wrong, then that's a $5000 mistake lol

sorry I mean diameter as the distance between the ground to the center of the axle, torque=F x r, where F is the tire/wheel combo weight and r is the radius. for a lighter combo weight, F decreases, but the r increases from 35 to a 37, so may still affect the total power output feel. just my 2 cents. I went from 35x12.5 MT to 37x12.5 ko2 and tbh didn't feel much different in terms of power loss.

Good luck with finding the tire/wheel combo that fit your needs.

my math is really rusty, so some of my calculation was done at work with help from folks lot smarter than me.

I believe what you mentioning is the torque required to rotate, but the most energy consumption would be rotational energy, it should be E = 1/2 IW^2, where w is angular velocity, that is also where torque comes into play, and to be honest when it was explained to me it flew over my head, there was also structural integrity came into play, I asked them to stopped.

But the math shows that it should minimum retain same performance as what I currently have, if not slightly reduce rotational energy required, which I think would be nice, if can go slightly faster it'll be great while on 37s, again, just need time and money to find out.

Love this back and forth and appreciate yalls insight and perspective. Looking way deeper into it than myself, but thats why I love this forum.

Seems like 18s just arent worth the squeeze. Shame because I love the OEM / classic look of the BBS wheeels.

I like the OEM look too, I want to maintain that for as long as possible, I've even thought about cutting my own wheels in that design.

There used to be 37x11.5r18 from Nitto under Ridge Grappler, I tried to order them couple of times but all came back as "no ETA", so I think they discontinued them, it was actually a popular size for Superduty guys, and it only weighted 77lbs compare to others weight into the 80s.
