Just bought a Bambu X1C and want to get into designing parts specific to my 3rd gen. So far I’m thinking about the following parts:
    • Cup holder separator to prevent my yeti from tipping over. (Yes I know there’s one out there already, but I want to make my own)
    • Flush mount for my auxbeam switch
    • Tiny hitches, ladders, and traction boards (gonna have one of my coworkers 3D scan my traction board, scale it down and add my own flare to em)
    • Third brake light to integrate three rear facing red marker lights + S2 amber lights.
That’s it so far, lol. Mostly bought the printer to support dirtbike part designs I’ve been doing, but would appreciate some other ideas, whether it’s light mounts, organizational tools, etc.

Side note: I would do a volume/drive-mode knob but I’d hate to be making plastic knobs that break just as easily as Toyota’s. I’ve printed a few of my own design but haven’t had great reliability (have only printed in PETG, though).

I have designed a few useful things for the 3rd gens. Happy printing. let us know how the Bambu works out. I am going to get one of those or perhaps the new Prusa core XY this year.

Amazing, thank you so much! At my workplace we have a few Bambu’s and Formlabs Form 4s. The bambu is a huge improvement over my last printer, an ender v3 that made me hate fdm for awhile. I’ve had one clogged nozzle in the bambu at work because I was printing some carbon fiber filament that wasn’t dried properly. Other than that, I’ve had zero issues!

I'd personally recommend the P1S over the X1C. With about $30 worth of upgrades it can do everything the X1C can at like $400 less the price.

Hardened nozzle and Hardened extruder gears and it can print nearly any filament.

The X1C is no slouch but the lidar, better camera, and touch screen don't mean much once you get to printing a lot.

To each their own and I don't fault anyone for getting the X1C. But I always recommend the P1S over it.

But also thanks for posting those files!

Interesting! Those are all good reasons to buy the P1S especially since you can upfit it to get what you want/need. I plan on doing a decent amount of prints while I’m at work so the camera is nice to have to monitor prints if I’m not around. I had a nylonX part lift off the build platform on my X1E at work but luckily had the camera on my second screen so I was able to save it before it got too bad.

The P1S still has a camera. It's just at a lower frame rate. So checking in on a print to see it lifting would still work.

I've never had a failure on the P1S that would've been prevented by anything the X1C offers.

Cameras are great, but you really need a way to intervene remotely when you see a problem. Although some of these newer printers have failure interrupts built in for various issues... filament runout, spaghetti, etc. But hopefully my next printer will allow remote control, if only to shut it down if necessary.

Can we talk about RC car parts? I need some custom stuff and I'm willing to pay a shiny penny or 2 for it.

Interesting, just a day ago, a friend and I were talking about getting a 3D printer and figure out how to design and print stuff for our Tundras, lol.

Have you tried 3D printing a replacement wheel?

Bambulabs printers give you the handy app. Which can not only cancel remotely, you can tell it to skip objects on the plate if only 1 is failed.
