So I want to upgrade the 3rd brake light assembly but can’t seem to remove the old housing off the cap. Heard I have to remove the head liner and remove two screw/nuts. Any video on some one successful completing it without trashing the liner inside truck.

I'm not too familiar with your year. Are there exterior accessible screws on the light to remove it? Or nothing?

    Pics?

I know on my 3rd gen Tacoma, you can pry it off from outside the truck or drop the headliner.

So I ended up just pulling it from the outside and there were no nuts holding it together but a weather seal and these two reddish clips holding the old assy on.
