Perhaps the Moderators would make this a Sticky thread until determine how many 3rd Generation Tundra’s are having alignment issues. Currently have 23 TRD Pro with 9300 miles. It had three alignments completed and I’ve rotated the tires three times. Each case, Toyota used different improved alignment specifications. I also keep tread wear records (yes-I’m a maintenance freak). Due to alignment issues and tire rotations. Inside tread depth is at 7.5. The outside tread depth is just under 5. Most of the issues appear to be with the TRD Pro’s.

So, the ask is simple, how many other 3rd Gen owners are having issues?

    Model: TRD Pro
    Miles: 9300
How many alignments to date? Three

I also had my pro aligned at around 2000 miles due to uneven tire wear. I’m sitting at 2900 miles and all is well…

I’ve read a good amount of alignment issues on the Fb page. I’ve also seen m, and it may be different now, but they didn’t have specs to align to . Quite a few premature I never wear

Seems like a lot of issues for aligned are either 1) Pros or 2) modified

I just don't think the dealers understand alignments. My dealer realigned my truck and set the camber at +1.2. I took it back to them and they said that's the best they can do, even though they never touched the cams in the LCA. I told them to try again. They called me back and said they were scared to make it drive funny. The truck was tramlining like you wouldn't believe due to the camber. I told them to get the camber to zero, set the toe and try to keep my caster as low as possible. Success! It was only 3 hours of my life I won't get back.

As many on here have stated, I won't go back to the dealer for an alignment. I will go to a seasoned alignment shop. The dealer only wants to go off the useless specs that Toyota supplied which just don't work.

An alignment is cheap, tires aren't. I'm not willing to let the truck ruin tires to have Toyota deny a warranty claim because of a bad alignment.

@ryanwgregg had an updated spec sheet out for the alignments before it all got yanked. I did a search and it is gone. You are not the first person to have a dealer not know how to do the alignment on these trucks.

I also needed an alignment at somewhere around 12,000 maybe? Mine is a totally stock, SR5 TRD OR. whether that was a manufacturing issue or just the way life is ( could have a bump or curb the wrong way), I am not sure. The tires are not in great shape due to that episode, but they are pretty poor tires anyway. Interestingly enough, I had a nearly identical situation on my 2002 Tacoma way back when 20 some years ago. Poor alignment out of the gate.

13,000 mile, three alignments. My pavement pounder SR5 4x4 front tires were feathering at outside edges since the truck was new in July 2022. It has since had three alignments for this issue and to correct the steering wheel not being centered.
Service manager told me they would have to charge me for recent attempt to correct alighnment because it could be my driving style. I pointed him to another new Limited Off Road in line for his first service visit and showed them how he must have the same driving style because his tires were feathering worse than mine. Manager agreed to align it again on their dime.
In the end, it turned out that both caster and tow were off. The tow was off exactly the same amount on both sides, and that was why it tracked straight going down the highway.
Not sure if it’s a coincidence, but last alignment specs were set to vehicle height number written on rear drive shaft at factory. Also, It seems the truck drives much nicer since last alignment and it seems the Lane Tracing Assist System is smoother, that could be my imagination.

Why are you doing a wheel alignment every 25k or so when you haven’t had alignment issue? That must be two alignments a year for you.

Does my truck needs to not drive straight for me to ask for the alignment?

I only have 6k miles on my truck but I did notice that my stock Dueler tires have lots of wear on the corners, and I don't drive aggressively...

Is this a good reason to ask dealership to check alignment?

I would say yes, and I my opinion you have good cause to ask Toyota dealership to cover under warranty.

It seems to me, you wouldn’t know if your truck had an alignment issue because your use might cause the need for wheel alignment from time to time. Not all of us beat the shit out of our truck and are in need of two alignments a year. OP was asking for input about trucks with alignment issue.

My 23 limited is in the shop right now with vibration issues in the front end. Had multiple balances, road force etc and nothing corrected it. Did some inspection and saw feathering on the outer edge of tires. After 1000 miles vibrations changed (got slightly better) once the feathering tread on outer edge became completely worn away. No idea what they will find out but they claim alignment isn’t off if the truck is driving straight lol. I have an open case with Toyota too. Will find out more tomorrow but I believe the vibrations are from this tire wear issue and bad alignment. Hoping they replace front tires and do a new alignment (and hope they know what they are doing)

I assume this tire wear is not normal as the back tires look brand new and my truck only has 5k miles.

My steering wheel was off center at about 1200 miles. I got a free alignment from the dealer which fixed things until I needed the wheels rebalanced two weeks later. My steering wheel was knocked off center again, but the truck doesn't pull when driving or braking and I'm tossing the OEM tires when I have my winter tires remounted. I'll get another alignment then.

My truck is still at the dealer, they said they did an alignment and now it’s even worse. They are keeping it a few more days and have Toyota engineers involved. Hoping this gets corrected and I don’t have to deal with it anymore.
Crazy part is, I have a loaner tundra platinum with 400 miles and it shakes/vibrates as well.. wondering if this alignment issue is causing this too. Hoping everything can be resolved so I can move on and enjoy the truck.

Point behind this. Each of the alignments-three-Toyota used original specs, new Specs and another modified spec to align. Building a document record of this in case needed. I took a closer look at front tires since latest alignment and still riding heavy on the outside edge.

@Hadelson I too own a 3rd Gen 2023 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro and have been experiencing the same alignment issues. Mine is on the Passenger Side Front tire which has been replaced once already, the dealership tried to play it off that it might not be under warranty until I showed up with my Wheel and Tire warranty contract. I got a new tire and they adjusted the alignment but again I am having the same issue with the same tire, my truck is only at 8k miles. This shouldn't be happening. I also reached out to another Tundra Pro owner via YouTube and he has the same issue with the alignment, even got a Toyota Tire Specialist on record stating that the alignment is off on the truck. I am going to bring my truck into my dealer this week and bring all my paperwork as well as some threads I printed and I will not leave until my truck is fixed and I have a new tire.

My 17 was a alignment nightmare. After replacing tie rod ends, UCA and steering rack bushings my alignment would still only last 2 months before the steering went off center and or shakes, pulling and tire wear began to show. According to every shop I took it to they claimed they cringe when they see a Toyota truck hit the schedule for a alignment. They are known for this i guess. I had 4 sets of tires that the passenger front outside edge was wearing QUICK!

    Lots of stuff!
I was driving home on the highway this afternoon and traffic was slow. I was up beside a TRD Pro and while admiring the clean sparkling black paint, I noticed the front wheels where visibly leaning out at the top. I was amazed about how pronounced this was. I can see the tires burning out very quickly. I wonder if this is a bad spec or the upper control arm is too long in this case. I think the truck was a 2023 as it looked brand new. We don't get a lot of TRD Pro's in this area and I expect that the 2024's will be a while before they start showing up here.

My 23 was in for oil change and service at 5200 miles today. I was asking about the front tires "feathering" as one of you have described. They rotated them to the rear, but it is going back for an alignment next week. I will ask for the alignment specs they will be using.
My Capstone has not been off road or any modifications, but the dealer will hate my guts if they cannot get this fixed. Too expensive to not be darned near perfect. My 09 Tacoma had 110,000 miles, never aligned, second set of tires and would wear them as flat as the road possum.
    Will post more next week.

22 Platinum here, not modified, saw some pretty bad wear on the outside of all 4 oem tires around 20k. asked the dealer to take a look at it - their response:
Told me I should be doing an alignment every 12k miles and offered to sell me 4 new tires :smack:

2022 platinum with Trd Pro suspension from sequoia. 2wd short bed. Wheels are method 705 17” wrap 285/70/17 g015. I had the pro shock put on about 21k now I’m at 33k and just did first balance and swap around on tires. So I put about 12k on the g015. Both front tires outter edge have noticeable wear compare to the two rear. My tire pressure was at 32-34 psi now I’m at 38 cold 40 hot. Tires are still good and I’m sure I’ll get 40k out of them. Haul 1k-1.5k in the truck every day.

Here is my update after check alignment service this morning.
First, I was at the Service Desk asking the service person about Toyota having issued several new alignment specs and what they were using? Another service rep beside him overheard the conversation and immediately said yes there had even been an updated setup issued "Last Week". He admitted there must be some alignment issues especially with the 23 models.
One hour later I was handed a service ticket that stated:
    1. Tires are wearing unevenly on edges found on first service.
    2. Cause: Toe too far in and Caster out of specs.
    3. Front Toe-In 365 W94
    4. Adjusted Caster and Toe In Specs
No charge to me. The truck drives noticeably different. On the way home on a newly paved road. I just took my hands off the steering wheel and the truck stayed straight for over one mile! It would have never done this before.
Just a little update and food for thought.

Interestingly enough, I had the dealer do another alignment today. The truck, now with its 2nd alignment, (so 3rd overall assuming it was done at the plant) and it drives better than it ever has (just under 30k). Very true, very straight. Feel of the wheel is quite good. I tried to get them to warranty it, claiming that the original specs were wrong and therefore needing this one, and he wouldn’t bite - HOWEVER - he did tell me that all the trucks have a 12k alignment clause in the warranty, so my advice to everyone is to use that if you get a new truck and just have them check it at your first oil change. It will save you some wear on those crappy tires they put on there lol

1 alignment at dealer ( says in spec)
new tires at 7k miles to 12k miles swapped tires to 2023 after engine gave out.
2023 tundra limited no TRD has 5k miles now
1 alignment at trusted non toyota dealer (adjusted to spec) 10k miles on new falkens and outer edges are worn down pretty bad.
anybody have any updates to this?

I am on my 3rd alignment right now. Tires are f&$(@#% but I am waiting to verify this alignment before I go drop coin on new rubber. Been about 3 weeks and they seem to be doing good so far. It would be the 4th alignment if you counted the original factory one.
