3rd Party Extended Warranty?

Anyone ever use one of these? My local dealership is pushing this "payGO Protect". The package that I qualified for comes out to about $60 / month with a one time $97.00 fee up front. So for less than $700 / year I would be "covered" for as long as I want.

Worth it or too sketchy since its not through Toyota directly?

 

I would contact Jerry, info below. Toyota backed warranty, my dealer tried to push third party warranty and I declined. Might be worth contacting Jerry.

Anyone know his price? I thought there was a change in the warranty sale process where they weren't allowed to sell Toyota Factory warranties out of state?

 

All the non manufacturer warranties are scams. I have experience with some. Many of the ones that were around just a few years ago are no longer in business. If they go out of business you are out of luck. I think they go by MBPI, inc. If so they have a lot of complaints.

 

I asked that question to him and he said it was ok. I tried researching the rules regarding out of state sales and never really found a diffenitive answer. If you email/call he will give you a breakdown pricing sheet. Ultimately I decided to wait till towards the end of my 3/36 to purchase if I still wanted it. Nice guy, and quick to reply. I assume if he was willing to sell to me being out of state that it was legit.

 

I opted to get one that covers everything major, it put another $50 month on my car note...I hope i never need it.

 

Anyone try USAA?
